Lindsey Graham Is the Saddest Story in Washington

Graham needed to get out from under McCain’s shadow. McCain was a bad influence on him—for whatever reason.

I’m definitely a fan of the newer version of Graham.
McCain had enough hate that he carried it with him to his grave.
What kind of person plans their own funeral to stick it to someone still alive like Mccain did with Trump?

You have to be wallowing in it -completely consumed with hatred to do that.

Yes. Graham is actually starting to turn that hate into righteous anger. good for him

His fight for Brett Kavanaugh completed his transformation into Donald Trump’s slobbering manservant.

The battle over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court was an especially ugly episode of a reality-show presidency that degrades almost everyone swept up in it, and many characters stagger away from it looking worse than ever.

That’s Senator Lindsey Graham you see at the head of the pack. That’s Graham you hear talking and talking and talking some more, in committee rooms and on stages and before the television cameras that he rushes to the way a toddler chases soap bubbles. His words are whichever ones guarantee a major role and a powerful patron, which means that these days he sounds like a more articulate echo of his golfing buddy: Donald Trump.

Great article!!!! :hand:

Thanks for posting it!!!!

Slobbering manservant.... :rofl2:

Kavanaugh claimed his family was destroyed and his life was ruined in the hearing.. I think Graham bought into that bit of melodrama.
They looked okay to me at the swearing in, I guess his new job healed all devastation.

I think Graham was always wildly overrated by the media. They need a few "good Republicans" to praise in order to seem nonpartisan, and they press into service, in that role, any Republican that gives them even a little material to work with. Graham, back when his authoritarian impulses had him bowing to McCain, fit that script by echoing McCain's criticism of Trump. Then, when Graham needed a new daddy figure and swapped to Trump, he was just as obsequious in the new direction. The only constant about Graham has been his love for starting wars. He's always been one of the most reprehensible people in Washington.

Ha! A miraculous recovery!

But my theory is that all the impotent rage, posturing, weeping, and blubbering were staged and faked.

A genuinely innocent man with a perfectly clear conscience does not lose composure or self-control, and is able to defend himself in a measured and self-confident way without resorting to tears, Kleenex tissues, Hollywood acting, yelling, or blubbering.

I understand. Why would anybody with inoperable, terminal brain cancer think he would die soon?

Anatta...you are an asshole.

He is a hack.

He was always a hack.

Back when McCain was alive...his hack persona told him to pretend to be like McCain.

But HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HACK.

I just read Woodward's book on trump and Graham started sucking up about six weeks after the inauguration. They had lunch the first week of March and Graham apologized to trump for a "very fucked-up Republication majority. Congress is going to fuck up your presidency."

Six weeks after their very public disagreements Graham was on his knees. What a lowlife.
