I don't think they're going to directly address Trump's actions at all. Not a tweet. Not a speech. What a colossal waste of time and a global embarrassment.
They could phone it in because they know trump won't be convicted.

Now we've moved on to video of Pelosi, Omar, Warren, and 200 other Democrats who have said the word "fight" at some point in their lives.
Was "Get in their face" brought up yet?![]()
Now to the First Amendment. OK, at least they finally got to the reason they're standing in that room. Only took something more than an hour.
The First Amendment does not apply.
There is also no way trump is being convicted.

The President cannot say to a General, Iran should be bombed, and then claim he did not really mean it--after they bombed Iran.
More like, "Live Feed: Master Class on Whataboutism."
He cannot use the First Amendment as an excuse to violate his oath of office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.
You know, considering what this trial is about -- an assault on the US Capitol -- one would think that the former president and his lawyers would have the decency to honor the incident and the building and the institution with a cogent and relevant counterargument. This is a flippant disgrace.
Not all speech is protected by the First Amendment.

Trump=flippant disgrace
More importantly, everyone who goes within 100 yards of Trump eventually becomes a smoldering crater. These lawyers should know better. Even if they are $60 an hour ambulance chasers.
