They are not "second in command." I doubt ANY military officer would take an order from a vice president. John Nance Garner described the office of vice president better than anyone else I've ever heard, "(being vice president) is not worth a bucket of warm piss." No matter how much Joe Biden might have wanted to get out of Afghanistan, he would have been just one more voice speaking to Barack Obama.

Barack Obama, W. Bush, and the moron, Trump...did not have the balls to do the job.

Most of my closest friends are on your side of the political aisle, RB. Most of my closest friends are like me...old, white males. It is a demographic that is almost solidly American conservative. I love 'em all...every bone in their collective heads.
