You love to see this. In the David v. Goliath Los Angeles Mayor's race, Republican candidate and former reality TV star Spencer Pratt has raised more money than incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, according to quarterly filing reports.

It's less about the monetary amount (although that matters) and more about campaign enthusiasm. Nobody in their right mind wants four more years of Karen Bass, so the fact that a low-name-recognition newbie candidate like Spencer Pratt is outmatching Bass in fundraising is proof that momentum is on his side.

Pratt is also outraising progressive leftist Councilwoman Nithya Raman.

In 2025, Pratt lost his home in the horrific Pacific Palisades Fire, which destroyed more than 10,000 properties and killed 12 people. Pratt started using his substantial social media platform to expose the truth about the gross incompetence and malfeasance of Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, and demand they be held accountable. When recall efforts against Bass stalled, Pratt decided to run for Los Angeles mayor.

And what of being able to rebuild his home? Over a year later, Pratt, along with millions of others who lost homes in the Palisades and Eaton Fires, is in a holding pattern thanks to Bass and Newsom. Despite Bass and Gov. Hair Gel's purported claims, neither is doing anything to cut the regulations, red tape, and costs required to rebuild, nor are they dealing with the insurers who still have not reimbursed many residents. Thanks to Pratt's strong megaphone and the fact that Angeleans are fed up with their terrible leadership, Pratt's grassroots campaign has been building momentum, moving the needle.

What is also moving the needle is Pratt's shoe leather, grassroots engagement, and kickass social media. Pratt posted this video in response to a hit piece by the Los Angeles Times, questioning his eligibility to run for Los Angeles Mayor. Thanks to Bass' failures, after Pratt and his family lost their home, they were forced to move into a trailer on his parents' property in Santa Barbara.

Mail in votes will elect Bass.

I totally think he can win....

First I completely forgot I created this thread. I was doing a thread bomb that day just copy/pasting every story I found, lol.

What I find absolutely hilarious is that California's nonexistent voting laws have now reached peak stupidity. I just heard a report this morning that people are literally flying in to California to vote for Pratt. They're saying if you don't want to require ID it just might bite you in the ass. If it's true and Pratt wins, do you think the libtards will suddenly demand voter ID? What a delicious pickle they created for themselves.

I'm seriously considering going myself. I could hit multiple polling places, make up names at each one and vote. In fact I seriously think there should be a full-on campaign to cheat in every blue state election en masse. Create absolute chaos and massive dilemmas for these dumbasses.

I just checked to be sure. A person can register to vote in California, leave the license and address fields blank, use a fake name, and still get registered. Sure it's under penalty of perjury and you can get in big trouble, lol. But how exactly? How can they possibly catch someone using a completely fake name? Even at the polling location, if you show up as Juan Valdez while white as the driven snow they cannot ask for ID or any verification at all.

Libtards always say 'it never happens.' I've asked them many times, 'How would you know?' Nothing but crickets.

I do too. I just heard a report earlier that absolutely cracked me up. Just scroll up if you want to read about it. I just explained in Lionfish's reply. This could get very interesting, to say the least.
I remember him on the reality show ....and I couldn't stand him... but Karen is even more Despicable so ...lol...I'll have to go back and read what you just posted but I love that this is happening so much ....

I don't mean to burst people's bubble but L.A. has elected one Republican Mayor in the last 65 years.

Rick Caruso is the ultimate L.A. businessman and civic leader. He was a Republican up until a decade ago, became an independent and ultimately a Democrat. He never voted Trump and isn't #MAGA yet in the race against Bass they just labeled him a #MAGA supporter, which likely cost him the race.

Pratt has done a great job of highlighting the poor job Bass is doing and clearly its getting national attention. But this is a L.A. race. To Pratt's credit, he's not running on a Republican platform and not getting into national/culture war issues. He's keeping it local.

Even still, he's a long shot.

I would be extremely surprised if he won. Commiefornia has perfected the art of the steal when it comes to elections so I really can't see him winning.

What is funny is that he is doing so well it is freaking them out and they are now talking about doing away with their jungle primary which they put into place to benefit them.

Gotta love marxists

Shh. The butt-sore terrified MAGATs are pinning their hopes on this kind of thing come November. Hope springs eternal and all that jazz. lol

Even though I don't live there anymore, the last Mayor's election was one of the most disappointing that I've experience and I'll frame it this way.

Caruso is a 'SC alum, was Chairman of the Board and my best friend knows him. So there was a personal element. He's also a great leader which is exactly what L.A. needed. If he ran as a Republican I would have understood, but he's a Democrat now.

Bass is a bureaucrat. I suppose you can argue she's an excellent bureaucrat but as we saw with the fires, the City needed leadership.

It's within that context that Pratt's adds are hitting so hard. They articulate what everyone living there has seen and experienced.

That said excitement from Republicans or #MAGA folks nationally doesn't win a Mayor's race in Los Angeles. And while Bass is (rightfully) very vulnerable, Pratt isn't going to be it.
