Mark Levin: "...declare the impeachment null and void"

The Dems in the House made up the rules as they went along...the timeline, too.
"Quickly, quickly, we must do this quickly because our National Security is in danger."
"We must move fast. We can't give the President time to rig the next election."

The Senate will now set its own timeline.

That's not true, there are no defined rules for an impeachment, and the Democrats were just following the rules established by the GOP in their twelve years of investigating

And if you are concerned with national security why would you send the articles to a kangaroo court in the Senate where everything will be whitewashed quickly

That it would be ‘white washed so quickly’ doesn’t say much for the Democrats case against Trump lol.

Pelosi and House Democrats already own the dubious distinction of passing the first strictly partisan impeachment articles against a duly elected President. And that’s actually being generous: they lost two votes to nay; had one spineless ‘present’ vote and caused one member to switch parties over it.

And it was Democrats who tried to make tiny corrupt little Ukraine into a ‘national Security issue’. I can’t think of a single Trump supporter who would call Ukraine a ‘national Security issue’. Though I can think of some [irrelevant] republican war hawks who make that claim.

Spin it all you want, this doesn’t look good for Democrats.

You didn't address the question raised by your own post, how does Pelosi holding back hurt the Democrats?

The majority of moderate Dems in our country have had enough already. She needs to finish what she started.
She'll have the next 4 years to have at least a half dozen more of these things.

It gives the lie to the narrative that democrats needed to ‘hurry’ because Trump was a threat to ‘rig another election’ when he has yet to rig any election.

Democrats needed to ‘hurry’ because they were desperate to lay a glove on Trump before the election. So now they have him impeached*. But as long as Pelosi continues to sit on the articles, the ‘impeachment’ has the same practical effect as a House Resolution. It’s basically a censure vote with a fancy ribbon on it that says ‘impeachment’.

It’s Pelosi’s move. Republicans are rank idiots if they think the first ounce of pressure is on them to act.

So, if there "are no rules" what you worried about. Then we'll just do what WE want to do as well. :awesome:

The first sentence says it all.

It’s the House’s duty to conduct a *full investigation* prior to voting on the articles. They didn’t do this because of ‘the Christmas rush’ so to speak. And now they want to do it in the Senate.

Bull shyte.

The Senate doesn’t have a responsibility to take over the Pelosi’s half-cooked Ukraine investigation/impeachment/thingy. And it’s literally funny that she thinks the articles give her some kind of leverage over McConnell. I know Trump wants [and deserves] a trial but McConnell should vote to dismiss the articles the moment when/if Pelosi decides to stop sitting on them.

Or maybe she could sit on them a little harder so they’ll end up where they belong.

Pelosi and probably several liberal members of Congress are afraid what might come out, in the Senate trial.

Remember what Hillary said:

Trump is trying to rig this one using the same method he did last time. he still has Russia working for him. He asked Ukraine and China to do it for 2020 too. Trump is not hard to understand. If it benefits him, he does it. There is no law that can touch him. He has the power to ignore it. This was Trump after the election.

The Senate has the sole right to try (have a trial). They can make the rules of that trial.

Dems said they had incontrovertible and overwhelming evidence. So, they held their vote and closed up shop.
Now they want more witnesses?????????
They can't have it both ways.
The Senate does not have to play their game.

How does it hurt her cause?

She can keep the articles over Trump's head as long as she wants and echo the rationale that Mitch, Lindsey and the like have already confirmed there will be no fair trial in the Senate, so why send them to a kangaroo court

And Trump can hold their fear, over their heads, and show how scared Pelosi is.

"A Guide to the Rules, Precedents, and Procedures of the House" contains a chapter on impeachment (ch 27).

It includes: "The respondent in an impeachment proceeding is impeached by the adoption of the House of articles of impeachment."

"Following adoption of the articles of impeachment, the House adopts resolutions appointing managers to present the articles before the Senate, notifying the Senate of the adoption of articles and appointment of managers, and authorizing the managers to prepare for and to conduct the trial in the Senate."

Breaking News!

Trump has issued and signed an executive order eliminating his illegal impeachment by the House?!!

Surrounded by GOP asswipe senators and congressmen, Trump was heard speaking:

It never happen folks!

We are talking about action taken by the Senate on their constitutional duties. Nothing was said about the president. Democrats claimed it was unconstitutional for the Senate not to hold hearings on confirmation.

But this is about impeachment and you seem desperately trying to divert away from Pelosi's failure. :good4u:
