Joe Biden - "Time to put Trump in the bullseye."
I just don't understand the arrogance of someone who ignores a trained scientist on science. .
well then you're an idiot. You can buy an "trained scientist" with a $6 pizza.

I just don't understand the arrogance of someone who ignores a trained scientist on science. If you're a scientist who thinks a theory is wrong or incomplete, or that the data is misinterpreted, or that a better theory accounts for the data, then you would follow established protocol by submitting your paper to a journal for peer review.
It's not like scientists want global warming to be true. But the data is there and there is consensus within the international scientific community that global warming is real and that we're the primary cause.
So what about surgeons and doctors who wear them daily for their careers?
Lol. Try again.
They change them many times during the day.

^great article
You're right. Not all. I remember reading this about masks and the bacteria build up a few months ago. Posted a little on it,
but not much interest here. It made perfect sense. There were some people in CA developing very serious bacterial infections because of
the constant mask-wearing. Some spent their entire waking hours (like 18 hours/day) wearing one. They were showing examples of masks
in different petri dish type set ups after 'x' amount of hours under certain lights. It showed all kinds of growths going on even just after wearing
it 2 hours. Yuck! And, people are inhaling all this straight into their lungs.![]()
https://nypost.com/2020/08/05/mask-mouth-is-a-seriously-stinky-side-effect-of-wearing-masks/The new oral hygiene issue — caused by, you guessed it, wearing a mask all the time to prevent the spread of the coronavirus — is leading to all kinds of dental disasters like decaying teeth, receding gum lines and seriously sour breath.
“We’re seeing inflammation in people’s gums that have been healthy forever, and cavities in people who have never had them before,” says Dr. Rob Ramondi, a dentist and co-founder of One Manhattan Dental. “About 50% of our patients are being impacted by this, [so] we decided to name it ‘mask mouth’ — after ‘meth mouth.’ ”
The term “meth mouth” is widely used by dentists to describe the dental problems that arise among methamphetamine users. Addicts often end up with cracked, black- and brown-stained teeth because the stimulant causes sugar cravings, teeth grinding and jaw clenching. They also often neglect their oral hygiene.
While mask mouth isn’t quite as obvious, if left untreated, the results could be equally harmful.
I noticed that article earlier and thought it timely....
You know about this?

I was reading that dentists are seeing a tsunami of cracked and broken teeth. You can understand why "Wear a mask as a political statement, as a form of caring" goes nowhere with me.
The results of the first randomized clinical trial (RCT) to study the efficacy of cloth masks were published in the journal BMJ Open. The trial saw 1607 hospital healthcare workers across 14 hospitals in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, split into three groups: those wearing medical masks, those wearing cloth masks and a control group based on usual practice, which included mask wearing.
Workers used the mask on every shift for four consecutive weeks. The study found respiratory infection was much higher among healthcare workers wearing cloth masks. The penetration of cloth masks by particles was almost 97% compared to medical masks with 44%.
Professor Raina MacIntyre, lead study author and head of UNSW's School of Public Health and Community Medicine, said the results of the study caution against the use of cloth masks. "Masks are worn to protect from infection during pandemics and outbreaks, especially when there are no drugs or vaccines available for protection," Professor MacIntyre said.
"Masks are especially important for frontline doctors and nurses, as their protection from infection is key to maintaining the ability to tackle a pandemic effectively. We should be cautious about cloth mask use in healthcare settings, particularly high-risk situations such as emergency departments, intensive care, paediatric or respiratory wards."
Cloth masks remain widely used globally because they are a cheaper option especially in areas where there are shortages of protective equipment, including in Asian countries, which have historically been affected by emerging infectious diseases, as well as in West Africa, which was the epicentre of the recent Ebola epidemic
You didn't read the article. It's ok to wear a mask for hours every day as long as it's a new sterile one each day.
Really? Awesome, let's talk science. What does the "science" say about filtering something that is 1/10th of a micron in diameter? Does the "science" say wear a dust mask?
