It's pretty telling and sad that folks don't care if a candidate buys an election. In fact, it's downright depressing that the USA is that dumbed down and compliant. As I stated in the OP, there are two polices which I agree with Bloomberg on but I am definitely NOT a supporter.

As a New Yorker, I felt it was more than a bit f***ed-up when he switched parties over and over again. Bloomberg, who’s changed his political party affiliation three times, is a Dem once again. He’s gone from Dem to Republican to independent, back again, just now, to Dem. He was a Republican as mayor, strongly supported by Giuliani. Worse, he donated heavily to Republican candidates, including Warren’s Senate opponent in 2014. Bloomberg also supported Dubya...twice and in large part is very responsible for Kavanaugh making it to the SCOTUS.
