I guess Dems will be happy to know this? Perhaps, now that Jefferson and Jackson Dinners are out, Dems can embrace Julian Dinners, to honor Julian the Apostate.
 
Having secular Law & Order in a Global Village is the smart way to go. Nobody wants the Mystics, the ones that believe in Magic, Dreams, Visions, and the Occult, running the Show.

humans have always been spiritual.
We have science that explains the life of the planet,and the animals, topography -everything.

I have yet to see any good explanation though for reasons for our existence.
If/when we come across intelligent alien life, then we can ask why does life exist

For my lifetime I am content to know/try to understand fully the human condition and if we relate to other outside superior designers such as God. Besides I find spirituality brings a sense of contentment as part of the human situation

I agree that humans seem to be hardwired for spirituality.

If the secularists get their wish and Christianity and other religions die—they will be replaced by something else. The [sad] tendency is to try and replace this ‘innate hunger’ [for lack of a better term] with things. People fill their lives with lots of things [money, big houses etc] only to be left hungry.

That’s why you see so many rich and famous people who are absolutely miserable and end up turning to alcohol and drugs when they have all the ‘things’ anyone could ever want. Clearly, there is someone missing from their lives.

But in terms of Christianity at least, it never dies but it tends to ebb and flow over time. Maybe Christians in Africa could send some missionaries over here lol.

Around here, many of them end up in Christian based rehab centers.

It’s going to sound like I’m patting myself on the back here lol [I only tell it as an example], but a few years ago I put a friend through rehab. This person was a hardcore meth addict and I felt compelled to try and do something, he agreed to it, so I paid to put them into a Christian rehab. Actually, this person found the rehab center on their own and I agreed to pay for it—he really WANTED to get clean. And since he made the first move I followed my gut and went with it.

He got right with the Lord and got cleaned up and got his life back together. As a society, we should think long and hard before we decide to ‘go all secular’.

you need a reason to exist, else you are just here for the ride.
You then have no roots, and when things disturb your equanimity, you can't anchor yourself against the tide
 
The GOP have been using religion to indoctrinate intellectually deficient individuals with their right wing ideology for years now; for their financial and political benefits. The public going into a secular direction may not be a bad thing, because this will cause the people to be more critical thinkers.
