This sounds like it's very much in your wheelhouse.Xenophon wrote about Socrates' trial and other details of his life.
The fact that some of Socrates' students served as collaborators with the Spartan enemies is undisputed historical fact.
I think almost any reputable historian of ancient Greece would confirm that Socrates really got himself into trouble by being perceived as hostile to democracy and having students who collaborated with the enemy. The fact that he annoyed powerful people wasn't good, but did not merit capital punishment
Is that so? What year was your last? Just for posterity.Yes it is you hate filled troll.

When democracy was restored in Athens, Socrates was in trouble because he was critical of democracy, he had expressed admiration for Sparta's government and laws, and some of his students were collaborators with the Spartan enemy. In the shadow of the Peloponnesian War, that was enough to cast suspicion on Socrates.Sparta has nothing to do with it!
I was referring to "The Republic" written by Plato.Athens was not a republic!
It wasn't. Athens became a dictatorship. When democracy was restored in Athens,
This part is correct. He wanted a republic.Socrates was in trouble because he was critical of democracy,
Sparta had nothing to do with it.he had expressed admiration for Sparta's government and laws,
Sparta had nothing to do with it.and some of his students were collaborators with the Spartan enemy.
I suggest you go study that war. Sparta had nothing to do with it.In the shadow of the Peloponnesian War, that was enough to cast suspicion on Socrates.
Plato is not Socrates. Plato is not Athens.I was referring to "The Republic" written by Plato.
