Number of billionaires INCREASES as rest of the country burns

Wealth stratification rips societies apart....not only has ours been getting worse for decades but social mobility is now a fraction of what it used to be.....the class structure of this society is getting more firm as the American Dream has been dying (is almost dead at this point).

Who here knows this?

Nonsense.

A society that has income equality...Cuba comes to mind.

Everyone is equally poor.

The BLM in the CHAZ are demanding a law that makes White People required to have their houses, and everything in them, "Donated" to Blacks when they die.

Blacks and Hispanics (For Now), will be allowed to create a Will&Testimate, to designate who gets what when they die, White people will be prohibited from doing such....

This is a very common part of Sharia Law.

Unbelievable.

Dog...you are too intelligent to suppose the ONLY solution is wealth confiscation. You apparently offered this statement so that you could propose a self-serving, but absurd question base on it.

Aha. And here we are.

Politicians do not confiscate property, beachfront or inland. Legal process does. And part of that process is to establish a reason for confiscation before doing the confiscating.

Ok, Frank. What is your solution for wealth disparity?

Ok, Frank. What is your solution for wealth disparity?

There may well be NO solution...so perhaps we should stop looking for one.

Allow as much wealth disparity as the foundation will withstand before collapsing...

BUT while that is happening, work to insure that EVERYONE has sufficient for a decent life.

We can do it. It is not truly an economic problem...it is a distribution problem.

We have more than enough of all the necessities of life. All we have to do is figure a way to see that it is distributed in a way that all the NEEDS of everyone is met. Then...the people can fight over how the excess wealth is distributed.

At some point the distribution of the excess "wealth" will become too much and that problem will solve itself.

Right now the top 1% of our population owns about 40% of all the nation's wealth. Things have not toppled.

At some point, the top 1% will own 50%...at some point, they will own 60%...and still it may not topple. But at some point the top 100 individuals will own 40%...or the top 10 will own 50%...or ...well, you get the idea.

At some point, it WILL topple.

Apparently we "capitalists" are too stupid to handle the problem peacefully and intelligently. So...we let it happen the other way.

Sounds like a redistribution solution. Distribute what hardworking Americans have accumulated to those who have not worked hard, or worked at all.

No to that.

The Democrat Slave masters provided housing, food, clothing and medical care for their slaves.

You're fantasizing about a millenial libtopia where everything is free and no one ever has to work again.

Your redistribution plan will not take money and power away from Bezos, Zuckerberg, Gates and all the other white lib silicon valley zillionaires. Whose wealth is all in Stocks and real estate.

Whatever.

You asked a question...I gave a reply.

If everyone has the needs of life...I could care less how the balance is distributed. Bottom line: Unfair distribution is the seed of its own destruction.

Your solution is to overthrow the gov't. And replace it with what, Lenin?

If "needs of life" are provided by politicians, then there is no reason to work. That is pretty obvious.

At no point have I ever advocated for (or intimated advocacy for) overthrowing the government.

We have more than enough of everything...with the aid of machines, robots, computers...we can have much, much, much more. MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE THE NEEDS OF LIFE.

Most people shouldn't be working. And damn near everyone should not be working the kinds of hours and days most people work. Fact is, keeping work for humans to do rather than allowing more machines to do it...RESULTS IN LESS PRODUCTIVITY.

Better to finally realize human labor is counter productive in many areas. And where it is essential...the people doing it should be compensated hugely.

Yeah, getting someone to cut your lawn or tend your baby...should not pay coolie wages. If it cost you $1000 each time you had your lawn cut...you'd either cut it yourself or let loose with some of those bucks that keep building up.

Pure capitalism...not socialism or communism.

And this is why democracy is dying or already dead. You can't have a democracy with this amount of disparity and greed. Capitalism does not regulate itself and this is the poison it breeds.

Well Niger and South Sudan have none, I hear its GREAT there! Stupid fuck

California has more billionaires than Mississippi, so I guess u want to live in Mississippi

the researchers offered persuasive evidence that the United States has one of the highest rates of mobility in the world, ranking fourth, just behind Finland, Denmark, and Norway. Moreover, the findings showed no decline in the rate of social mobility among children born in the U.S. over the last 40 years.

The researchers used an alternative rate of mobility. Gosh.. using an alternative rate of mobility that I don't have to explain, the US ranks last out of 325 countries.

The article states the reality is that people in the lowest quintile have a 9% chance of making it to the top quintile. That is dismal and the author then tries to explain it away by claiming the top quintile is so stratified from everyone else that it is harder to get there. Not really a great argument if one is trying to argue that anyone can make it in the US. The facts as downplayed by the author is that race and where someone is born and grows up plays a bigger part in preventing movement than you may want to admit. A poor white person that grows up in the Berkshire's and attends a good school will have more mobility than a black person that grows up in a lower middle class neighborhood in Atlanta. That hasn't changed and isn't likely to change with our current system.

You are reading too much science fiction, Frank. And the world does not end at the U.S. borders. We do not live in isolation as the Left likes to pretend.

40 million people on unemployment plus $600 per week. And they choose to riot and burn down the lib cities. That is your socialist libtopia.

I will have someone cut the grass once every 3 years if it costs a thousand dollars. :palm: ( I do cut my own lawn, but I'm getting older)

I seriously doubt there are many societies in which those in the bottom 20% go to the top 20%; especially when 60% of those at the bottom do not work. What is more important is that those on the bottom rose to higher quintiles. According to the Treasury Department study using IRS data:

--50% of those in the bottom quintile moved to a higher income category within 10 years

--of those in the top 1/100 of one percent only 25% remained there within 10 years

--The degree of mobility among income groups is unchanged from the prior decade (1987 through 1996).

--Median real incomes of all taxpayers increased by 24 percent after adjusting for inflation

--Median incomes of those initially in the lower income groups increased more than the median incomes of those initially in the high income groups.

I've never said the world ends at the US border...I agree we do not live in isolation...I've not heard the left indicating that we do.

I have no idea of what a libtopia is...and I suspect you are running out of argument to try that crap. No need for it.

I will be 84 in about 6 weeks...and I cut my own grass. Goddam yard seems to get bigger with each summer that comes along. But I will continue to cut it myself.

Almost 84 and still cutting the lawn. That's awesome.

Libtopia = liberal utopia.

Most Liberals don't understand that we live in a global economy and we are under threat from many globalist entities.

Frank, what is your wealth confiscation and redistribution plan?

Almost 84 and still cutting the lawn. That's awesome.

Thanks, Dog. I actually enjoy it...on the days where it is not too hot.

Libtopia = liberal utopia.

Everyone having sufficient of needs...will not be a Utopia of any kind. It will be reasonable...and will get lots of unproductive humans the hell out of the way of machines and more productive workers...which will mean more of the PLENTY we already have.

Most Liberals don't understand that we live in a global economy and we are under threat from many globalist entities.

American liberals and American conservatives are world-class experts at kidding themselves. Both should get away from calling the other stupid and naive. Both are!

Frank, what is your wealth confiscation and redistribution plan?

Gotta take it in steps.

Some that I think should be done almost immediately are:

First...go back to the income tax schedules we had in 1959...and increase the amount of tax even further than that on income of over $5,000,000.

Second...all capital gains should become ordinary income...and subject to ordinary income tax.

Third...corporate taxes must include a minimum on gross profit. If a company cannot meet that minimum...they should go out of business. Companies like GM, Goodyear, Jetblue, US Steel, Whirlpool, Netflix, Amazon paid no (or almost no) federal taxes. That is absolute bullshit...especially since their corporate staffs are paid huge sums...and they still pay dividends to shareholders.

BUT how to get all that and more done should be taken up by much brighter minds than mine...or any of the minds posting on an Internet forum.

Your tax plans will send corps, jobs and the wealthy overseas. The world does not end at the U.S. borders. And the billionaires will keep their billions.

GE paid no taxes because of "green" Al Gorian tax breaks.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos owns and controls the Dem Meida, Washington Post. He is profiting massively from the Fauci shutdown and burning down of Black owned businesses in the liberal cities.

Because we don't want to make any sacrifices. We're pissed off at people who get rich providing us services that we want to use. If I want food I can order it online. Or I can get off my butt and go to Safeway, Costco or my local corner market. My corner market is more expensive and provides less options. But it's owned and run by a family in the neighborhood. The other options are owned by large and wealthy corporations. That's just one example.

I'm not a coffee guy but why does anyone go to Starbucks? Why doesn't everyone go to a local owned coffee house? Starbucks is far more convenient with their thousands of locations but you're making the billionaire owners wealthier each time you go there.

People can vote with their wallet.

Here's the problem you nit wit..............they get wealthy by not paying taxes, paying slave wages and monopolizing the market. In other words...........THEY DON'T CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMY.
the greedy mofo keep every dollar they make to themselves.

that's the racist white american way....CAPITALISM.

And apples still grow on trees.

We have a major league wealth disparity problem in America that is becoming more extreme with every day (and with every crisis).

We can deal with it...and discuss what can be done and what should be done.

Or, we can handle it the way the French did in the late 18th century...or the Russians did in the early 20th century.

One way or another, we are going to handle it, because the disparity is widening...not lessening.

Surely you see that, Dog.[/QUOTE

It's called capitalism........the next thing white america needs to come to terms with that doesn't work because it's designed to do exactly what it's doing, OPPRESSING!
