I always thought Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins were pretty weak. Neither of them seem to be formally educated in logic, philosophy, theology, and their arguments typically just spiral into a litany of complaints about the Old Testament and the Bible in general.

It was the Baptists who insisted on separation of Church and State in the revolutionary War era. It wasn't the secularists, atheists, or liberals insisting on it.

Religious freedom is not even listed as one of the reasons to separate from Britain in the Declaration of Independence, and the continental army was not fighting for religious freedom.

The language in KJV is so archaic, kids won't be able to understand it.

Teach them English. The KJV is actually a good example of it.

The intent of the school board is obviously not to the benefit of the kids, but to ingratiate themselves with the fire-and-brimstone gang, whom mistakenly believe KJV is the most authentic Bible.

There is no law against religion in public life. Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Martin Luther King Jr. frequently spoke about their faith.

The only applicable law is to prohibit government employees from promoting a state religion.
