Because no matter what he does, it betrays his idiotic and ham handed approach to anything.

This was a childish silly approach at war, with no plan or clear objective. He lost power over some of the most valuable international territory on the earth, and brags about it.. all the while, his sycophantic, mentally ill supporters cheer. This combination weakens the most powerful and symbolic government to have ever existed.

I strongly suggest that many American generals would disobey a direct order to do so under those circumstances.

I also believe it is quite clear that a good 25% of his supporters would support such a Choice if Trump made it.

Why would anyone not point out that all we get from Trump is CONSTANT rhetoric with failed results?

- Iran nuclear program "OBLITERATED" and Trump tells world '...Iran will not be able to pose any nuclear threat for years to come'. Then just weeks later Trump says we had to go to this new war with Iran as they were 'weeks away from threatening America/world with a nuke'.

- Iran military "decimated" with Trump telling the world '... all of Irans munitions and ability to fire or deliver them have been "DECIMATED" and that Iran can no longer wage any form of war. Meanwhile Iran continues to fight and control the Strait traffic flow while Trump now says that does not break any 'cease fire'. The same Trump who said Iran was 'incapable of firing due to DECIMATION'.

Trump is a clown and idiot blow hard who has made a mockery of the US and its power as no threat he makes, no statement he makes, nothing he says is now rightly not just laughed at and mocked knowing he will TACO soon after.

It is decimated, the Straight is a very long corridor, and Iran is a very large country. They still have some drone, and very limited missile capability. Where is their navy? Air force? Why aren't they rolling tanks?

Ya but just as we saw General(s) retire or quit rather than following Trumps illegal order to bomb and kill and double tap drug runners in the Caribbean, but then one or more stepped up who would do it, if just given the thinnest pretense, i think Trump would quickly find or promote a soldier in the ranks to General who would gladly order the launch of nukes.

It is similar to how Trump's DoJ sees all the career top DoJ lawyers quit rather than follow the illegal orders and they then promote the Alina Habba and Lindsey Halligan types who gladly take on the role despite being wholly unqualified and fully incompetent. They then gladly do what Dear Leader demands with zeal, often breaking laws, wittingly or unwittingly, as they do.

We live in dangerous times as newly promoted General Alina Habba who orders a nuclear strike is not something we can simply dismiss as impossible in this Trump admin. It is fully within their history to do something like that.

He has a floor of supporters, not sure But I guess 20% who would support him NO MATTER WHAT he did. If he agreed to let Putin assume a position of dictatorship over the United States, they would be enthusiastic about it.

Good point. Iran's nuke effort didn't grow back like a chameleon's tail between July 2025 and February 28, 2006, AFAIK.
