Yes - and the hunting guns can be licenced and so on easily enough. Difficult though it is to visualise, the young Penderyn used to go out and shoot things with a very poorold shot-gun (bit of bent wire for a firing-pin) and was quite good on the range in the RAF. There is all the difference in the world between a grown-up dislike of killing animals and a Good British horror at the thought of pointing a killing-thing at a human being. It's complicated over here by all sorts of ancient antagonisms over land-rights, poaching and the like, but I think our HUGE advantage is that we lack your beastly NRA and are allowed to grow up!
