There’s only one thing that could make Oprah Winfrey run for president in 2020.

Amid calls for her to consider a run for the White House — from fans as well as her closest friends — “I went into prayer,” she tells PEOPLE in the magazine’s new cover story. “ ‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.’ And I haven’t gotten that.”

Since we all like to point out the inconsistencies and hypocrisy of the "other side" I get the purpose of the OP pointing out where are the liberal voices that ripped republicans who said God spoke to them? Having a difference response when Oprah says it

I think the whole idea is crazy no matter who says it but Oprah didn't say God told her to do it.

She said he hasn't given her a sign but her determining factor was God's will

I think many people pray about difficult decisions or the path their life is supposed to take. That's not a problem. I have a problem with people who claim God specifically told them to do one thing or another. You even see it on this forum in smaller ways from some people who say they're Christians. "If you believe (______) you're going to hell." Then they quote a scripture to back up their comment.

I have zero problem with people praying over decisions, choices etc. I have no problem with what Oprah said here. Strictly speaking politically she's not getting the derision others have because she's a democrat

You don't have to convince me. I just knew if you got a scholarship it would be for academic achievement. Becuz youse rites nice, lol.

I certainly don't understand how they think good writing isn't a marker for intelligence, and they seem to take it personally. I didn't say it was the only thing but it's not a small thing. Look at the Orange One's tweets... are we supposed to infer from them that he's intelligent? If so the standard has really dropped. He can't spell, has weird capitalizations, faulty logic and poor understanding. Yet some of those cons think he's the Second Coming of Christ. Go figure.

I think if Oprah had said "God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it" and then concluded by saying "God touched my heart and told me to run so I'm going to do it", she would have gotten plenty of derision.
