PA-18 results thread

The swingometer was just disabled because the Westmoreland Republicans refused to report precinct by precinct. What a huge coincidence. It takes some time to "compile" those results and make sure their "correct" I guess.

Margin is going to be tight regardless. Democrats are picking up large margins from '16.

That's consistent with what we've seen in every race so far. These elections ARE national. Outside of his base, Trump is not popular.

trumps approval rating continues to climb. It's less about appeal and more about motivation. off years the salty party is more motivated to get out the vote. this happens literally every first midterm ever.

Swing in one area is correlated with swing elsewhere, more or less. A lot of people don't seem to understand that. They think of a place as isolated, so they can lose massively in one area but still believe they're doing fine everywhere else they previously did fine in. That's a foolish belief.

The demo is going to win, but I do not get how people like Thingy says this makes a difference, while arguing the opposite when pubs took over under Obama.

Amnesia?

Party out of power generally picks up seats, w/ a few exceptions. I've been saying that since Trump was elected.

But there haven't been many waves. November is shaping up to be a wave.

I'm looking forward to your spin, or explanations of how you don't really care.

You're so cute when you're hopeful.

This is going to do wonders for our ability to get quality candidates though. Every district where the Republican won by less than 10-20 points is going to have ambitious leaders from the community come forward and challenge when they never would have before because they would've assumed it was a lost cause.
