Any sane person's interpretation of the Constitution is that he cannot be president again. he might be able to run, but to what point? he is too diminished to be elected, and cannot be president again... But with the 20% that will support him no matter what, he may well be able to get the party of trump nomination.

Sometimes trump just is trump, and does not care about the destruction he does along the way.

With 20% of the overall voters, trump can definitely get the nomination. There are two political parties, so that alone cuts the number of primary voters in half. Then there are independent voters, and voters who just do not vote in the primaries(but will in the general election). Having 20% overall support can be closer to 80% of the primaries support.

To win the primaries, trump does not need a majority of the general electorate, he needs a motivated group of partisan supporters. Without the Constitutional prohibition, trump would easily win the nomination, but it would be nearly impossible to win the general election.

I can see him concocting a scheme where JD runs for POTUS in 2028 with Trump as his VP running mate, then JD resigns for some specious reason, giving Trump a third term. Guess we'll see if JD's ego is that flexible and how much Trump will promise him if he signs on. lol

He probably could, unless the MAGATs all kick the bucket. After all, he polled terribly in 2016 plus had most of the Republikkkans against him. Even JD "Nice couch you got there" Vance called him "America's Hitler." Yet you stooges elected him anyways. And most of the GOP lined up to kiss his ring or his fat bottom in penance.
