What is the difference? Why is "Zionist" offensive?

NYC school bans 'Proud Zionist' t-shirt, teacher calls it 'anti-Semitic'
Teacher slams principal over banning 'politically explosive' shirt, says other staff allowed to wear pro-BLM messages

How is pro BLM messages offensive?

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: An English teacher at a Brooklyn school has filed a discrimination complaint over his t-shirt, which fellow staff and students allegedly found offensive. Jeffrey Levy reportedly wore a 'Proud Zionist' t-shirt to school one day but was quickly reprimanded for doing so. He goes on to claim that other political messages, such as pro-Black Lives Matter (BLM) and women's rights have been allowed, so he's clearly not a happy man.

Schools have increasingly become key venues for political debates, especially around racism. On September 17, Oregon teacher Lauren Pefferle came to school in blackface to protest a vaccine mandate. Days before that, a Portland teacher removed the US flag from her classroom after the school district banned BLM and LGBTQ flags. In July, Illinois teacher Jeanne Hedgepeth was fired for anti-BLM social media posts, leading her to sue the school district in response.

Advocates of Zionism view it as a national liberation movement for the repatriation of a persecuted people residing as minorities in a variety of nations to their ancestral homeland. Critics of Zionism view it as a colonialist, racist and exceptionalist ideology that led advocates to violence during Mandatory Palestine, followed by the exodus of Palestinians, and the subsequent denial of their right to return to lands and property lost during the 1948 and 1967 wars.

El Paseo business owner's 'White Lives Matter' window display called 'repulsive'

A window display at an El Paseo art gallery with the words “Back the Blue,” “All Lives Matter” and “White Lives Matter” is being decried as “repulsive” and an example of racism

Zionism & BLM are both supremacist.

Both often neglected facts that they are supremacist.

The difference is Zionism is more like colonialism & has killed a 100 thousand or so Arabs.

BLM on the other hand is not colonialism nor has killed much more than a couple dozen.

Teachers are professionals and are held to different standards than students.

Zionism has always been a controversial doctrine. From the outset it demanded that Jews be allowed to create a state somewhere in the world regardless of the opinions of those that lived there already. Palestine was, of course, the favored location as it had a small population of native Palestinian Jews. This was long before WW2 when six million Jews were exterminated by Hitler's Nazis along with up to fourteen million other minorities .
Post WW2 the Zionist movement, essentially European in nature with little, if any, connection with Palestine, poured into Palestine in defiance of the ruling British, killed many British soldiers, civilians , assassinated the United Nations Peace Envoy, Count Bernadotte- and proceeded to raze hundreds of indigenous Palestinian villages , forcing some three-quarters of a million Arabs to flee their country. We all know how the neighboring Arab states reacted to that - but the Zionists unilaterally declared a ' Jewish state of Israel ' anyway, in 1948. This term was rejected by president Truman who replaced it with ' state of Israel ' in his recognition document as a ' Jewish state ' was unacceptable legally. Post 1948 the ethnic cleansing of Arabs continued and the United Nations declared Zionism to be racist by UN Resolution. This was later rescinded under American diplomatic pressure.
So- there is little to distinguish between early Zionism and fascism. Latter day Zionism, termed neo-Zionism, doesn't differ from fascism at all and so , to most people in the world , marks any wearer of a pro-Zionism T-shirt to be a supporter of fascism. Which indeed is confirmed by the brutal and illegal activities of today's Israelis. Remember- the Israeli occupation of Palestine is illegal and condemned as such by the majority of UN member states. Support for neo-Zionism is , in reality, support for criminality. To its worldwide shame, the US continues to support it.

Being a supremacist yourself, I'm not sure that we should trust your poor judgment.

Teachers and school emloyees should not be wearing t-shirts with ANY kind of messaging on it.

Especially social activist messaging.

Actually, teachers should not be wearing t-shirts period.

I see that the point of that story is beyond your IQ. The point was that they were A OK with BLM shirts and women's rights shirts, but having a shirt that supports police or Zionism are deemed offensive. We call that hypocrisy, not to mention that claiming this teacher violated their rules was also a lie.

OFFENSIVE:
