I think the media knows full well it wasn’t racist but they needed to cover for the Pelosi-AOC dust-up. And dayum, the comments about ‘needing less black faces’ needed some cover too.

I Googled "did ilhan omar marry her brother". In the first three pages of results, Snopes is the only source casting doubt on the story. The rest consist of RW blogs and "news" sources either stating that it's true, or heavily implying that it is. One discusses the rumor vis a vis tax issues but doesn't state that her ex-husband was her brother. So there was no need to marry someone in order to get into the country.

They are freshmen congresswomen who lead nothing. Trump is using them for a target so he can rally the haters and bigots. In the Democratic Party, they have a right to be heard. Trump picked out women of color for obvious reasons. He thinks running on hate and bigotry wins for him. Every fiber will be backing racism again.

In February, Omar responded to a tweet from journalist Glenn Greenwald, who posted about House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy threatening to punish Omar and another congresswoman for being critical of Israel.

Omar wrote back, "It's all about the Benjamins baby," a line about $100 bills from a Puff Daddy song. Critics jumped on the tweet and said Omar was calling up a negative and harmful stereotype of Jewish Americans.“

She had to apologize but the other three (3) members of the squad supported her.

Antisemitic haters of America and Jews.
