Ya well, once staff abused me and I watched them abuse others the charm wore off, especially after I both paid and put up a lot of great content. And now of course I have since been telling the truth about them. I am glad somebody misses me but I likely could not come back.

so just follow the fucking rules..I got 3 point for not putting a comment in the OP -I usually do it on post 2.
They are completely anal -agreed,,but on the plus side I've been able to have some really good discussion on NATO expansion and the folly of becoming UKraine security guarantors.

Life is a trade off.. Twitter is trash, this place is liberating but the lack of modding means the kids
treat it as playtime
So I post more theer in spite of all that, because I want to hear others with sensible ideas

US appeals court revives investor lawsuit against Boeing over 737 MAX crashes
Two Boeing 737 MAX passenger airlines crashed, one in Indonesia in October of 2018 and the other in Ethiopia in March of 2019, killing a total of 346 people. Investigators found faulty patches that Boeing implemented to solve problems with the aircraft.
The court's decision will allow the lawsuit to move forward, meaning Boeing and its board will face litigation over the allegations that they misled investors about the 737 MAX airplanes prior to the two crashes.

Relative Potency of Greenhouse Molecules

The forcings due to changing concentrations of Earth's five most important, naturally occurring greenhouse gases, H2O, CO2, O3, N2O and CH4 as well as CF4 and SF6 were evaluated for the case of a cloud-free atmosphere. The calculation used over 1.5 million lines having strengths as low as 10−27 cm. For a hypothetical, optically thin atmosphere, where there is negligible saturation of the absorption bands, or interference of one type of greenhouse gas with others, the per-molecule forcings are of order 10−22 Watts for H2O, CO2, O3, N2O and CH4 and of order 10−21 Watts for CF4 and SF6. For current atmospheric concentrations, the per-molecule forcings of the abundant greenhouse gases H2O and CO2 are suppressed by four orders of magnitude. The forcings of the less abundant greenhouse gases, O3, N2O and CH4, are also suppressed, but much less so. For CF4 and SF6, the suppression is less than an order of magnitude because the concentrations of these gases is very low. For current concentrations, the per-molecule forcings are two to four orders of magnitude greater for O3, N2O, CH4, CF4 and SF6 than those of H2O or CO2. Doubling the current concentrations of CO2, N2O or CH4 increases the forcings by a few per cent. A concentration increase of either CF4 or SF6 by a factor of 100 yields a forcing nearly an order of magnitude smaller than that obtained by doubling CO2. Important insight was obtained using a harmonic oscillator model to estimate the power radiated per molecule. Unlike the most intense bands of the 5 naturally occurring greenhouse gases, the frequency-integrated cross sections of CF4 and SF6 were found to noticeably depend on temperature.

From the paper: “It has long been accepted that the ‘greenhouse effect’, where the atmosphere readily transmits short wavelength incoming solar radiation but selectively absorbs long wavelength outgoing radiation emitted by the earth, is responsible for warming the earth from the 255°K effective earth temperature, without atmospheric warming, to the current average temperature of 288°K.” Of the 33°K warming, the authors conclude that water vapor (H2O) is responsible for 29.4°K , with carbon dioxide (CO2) contributing 3.3°K, and methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) combined just 0.3°K. This result, the authors say, strongly suggests that increasing levels of CO2 will not lead to significant changes in Earth’s temperature and that increases in CH4 and N2O will have a very little discernable impact. A four-fold increase in CO2 concentrations to 1,600 ppm will increase temperatures by 1°C and it would take around 800 hundred years to reach that point at the current rate of CO2 level increases.

The authors conclude:

“There is, and never can be, a tipping point. As the concentrations of greenhouse gases increase, the temperature sensitivity to those increases becomes smaller and smaller. The Earth’s atmosphere is a near perfect example of a stable system.”

“The atmosphere, mainly due to the beneficial characteristics and impact of H2O absorption spectra, proves to be a highly stable moderator of global temperatures. There is no impending climate emergency and CO2 is not the control parameter of global temperatures, that accolade falls to H2O. CO2 is simply the supporter of life on this planet as a result of the miracle of photosynthesis.”

Bottom line: This study, and other studies, show that carbon dioxide has an insignificant effect on global temperature. Therefore all efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and achieve “net-zero” will not stop climate change and are just very expensive and futile exercises.
