They always claim that tax cuts will increase revenue. But what actually happens is that revenue drops immediately after the tax cuts, stays low for several years, then starts to grow again, but at a slower rate than before the tax cuts. At which point the conservatives start to scream that the tax cuts increased revenue, when what they really did was interrupt the regular pattern of growth and slow the return to normal growth.
