How is it remotely credible that the FBI did not have informants in these three groups that they have been identifying as major threats for years, especially given the reporting that the leader of the Proud Boys — conveniently arrested the day before January 6 — was an FBI informant in the past, along with the confirmed reporting that the FBI had multiple informants in the Michigan Three Percenters case?

Why are low-level protesters being charged with major crimes while the alleged organizers of this riot and the leaders of these groups have not been?

Why are enormous amounts of video surveillance footage from January 6 still being concealed?

What happened to the alleged planting of pipe bombs near the Capitol?

Why did the FBI not take more aggressive action given the once-denied but now-confirmed fact that the social media platform Parler sent the FBI advanced warnings of specific plots to use violence at the Capitol?

The axis of liberal media outlets and their allied activist groups — CNN, NBC News, The Washington Post, Media Matters — are in an angry uproar over a recent report questioning the foreknowledge and involvement of the FBI in the January 6 Capitol riot. As soon as that new report was published on Monday, a consensus instantly emerged in these liberal media precincts that this is an unhinged, ignorant and insane conspiracy theory that deserves no consideration.

1/6 is on video. A LOT of video.

It's clear what happened, and how violent and anti-American that day was. It's an embarrassment for conservatives. The denial of it takes the entire GOP even further down the rabbit hole, which seems impossible.

The whole thing is pathetic.

Greenwald makes the point the FBI "solves" terrorism cases they helps construct thru active informants.
They are such slimy bottom dwelling Swamp critters - they have no regard for anything but their narrative

why cant we see all the video? people are rotting in jail and they wont release it?

They get piles of warnings. After it is over, we can all say why didn't the FBI see this one and do something. Nobody has tried to stop the ceremonial counting of the electoral votes, which were already certified. It is really stupid. Perhaps the FBI underestimated righty stupidity.

It doesn't matter since the Republicans refuse to investigate it. Obviously because they are culpable.

In the end, I think they will regret not staying in front of this as the plea deals and big trials occur all the way through the midterms and, probably, the 2024 election.

The Republicans are screwing themselves by failing to both do the right thing and take a leadership position in the investigation. Now they've punted to the Democrats who will run the show.

There’s something on it that they’d prefer people not see lol?

For months I’ve been bitching about lack of security, and how had there been adequate security, the rioters wouldn’t have gained access to inside the Capitol.

And now we find out that Parler was sending the FBI content from their platform about *specific threats* that were being planned for 1/6. There’s only two possible explanations: one is the usual ‘intelligence failure’.

Or, the threats were intentionally ignored because they were being made by the FBI’s own people. And as you put it ‘they were constructing their own case through active informants’.

Since lefties like defending the feds they can pick whichever option they prefer. Or maybe they can think of another option because I can’t.

But notice how option #2 explains why we can’t see all the video.

Because the Republicans know they will be hammered in the midterms and 2024. IMO, it's better to do a mea culpa and get ahead of this rather than let the Democrats steer the ship through both elections.

Anyone who thinks this is going away is a fucking moron.

The Trump aspect is being investigated.

There needs to be a parallel investigation into how this was allowed to happen in the first place. Did the FBI play an active role in it? What is their excuse for apparently ignoring reports from Parler about specific plans for that day?

Why wasn’t Director Wray beating someone’s door down with the information his agency had and telling them to call the Guard in? In the face of all the apparent fore warning how did some protestors manage to waltz into the Capitol.

You don’t think someone should be held accountable for that?

Agreed on investigations, but the Republicans are blocking as many as they can to avoid 1) Pissing off Trump, 2) Pissing off Trump's Qless fan base and 3) to protect their seats in Congress since at least a dozen of them should be facing criminal charges.
