The Republicans used to stand for something. I may not have agreed with all they stood for, but it was something real. Now they are a bunch of old men angry that young women will not have sex with them, and old women jealous of young women.

Yep. I thought it was pretty funny back when Palin was running as VP and we criticized her fake folksy schtick, her lack of intellect, and her corruption as half-governor. The (R)s said we were "jealous" of her and that's why we criticized. Okay then. :laugh:

as well we should be. by electing trump, especially the second time, knowing what he is - it's sadly a reflection of America's soul.

The next thing we need to fix, is the electoral system and representation. It's a crime that Wyoming gets the same number of Senators as California and NY. That shit needs to change.

I'm fine with the senators but want toput an end to gerrymandering by BOTH parties. I'd like to see a constitutional amendment mandating that legislative districts be drawn up by a nonpartisan committee om each state whose members are chosen by both major parties, with a provision that if a third party has X% of the voters in a given election they may also chose committee members. The committee's task will be to draw up fair and equal voting districts in their state. Michigan has such a scheme now. I think a few other states do as well.

Yeah, we both have great ideas, but the success of each rests of politicians being willing to give up power. I don't have high hopes. Even Biden pooped the bed by not wanting to give up power. That's one of the reasons for trump 2.0.

It's also a good argument for term limits for all of them, not just the POTUS.
