True, the bottom 40% owe virtually no taxes and get up to $5,000 in Earned Income Tax Credit. The top 50% pay 96% of all federal income taxes. The top 20% pay the highest percentage of taxes.
Top 20% income starts at $90K.
I wouldn't consider $90K wealthy.
What does the top 1% pay, and what amount of income gains have they seen?
So then when you said before the tax cut was equal,
you were bullshitting.
You do that a lot, by the way. You make deliberately false arguments and frame things without context either because you're a duplicitous piece of shit, or you're just incredibly lazy.
Obama raised taxes on those over $400,000 and that was not equal, either, but it applied equally to everyone with the same income data.
Obama let the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy expire and they returned to the rates pre-Bush Tax Cuts.
So once again, we have an instance of you falsely framing something because you either don't understand it, or you do and are trying to make a false argument.
And what do you mean by "same income data"? That makes no sense.
Reducing future tax rates is not the same as forgiving a debt
Maybe not to you, but to me it is.
Lower taxes does not make anybody pay for what somebody else owes
Lower taxes
always result in higher debt and more borrowing. That's what the data from the last 40 years shows. Data you still ignore because it's not convenient for your argument. And yes, lower taxes does result in others paying for what someone else owes. As we saw in Kansas, when taxes were cut, that increased borrowing and out of pocket spending for things like health care and education. So the rich paid less in taxes so that everyone else could pay more for essential services.
except those who already pay most of the federal taxes when they have to pay for the interest on the additional debt we would incur when the government has to pay for those student loans.
The tax cuts
caused the debt to grow. You deliberately reduced revenue and that created deficits that added to the debt.
Tax cuts = debt.
