Rogue Monsanto GM wheat escapes into Canada.

This is a pretty easy read.

The Difference Between Hybridization and Genetic Modification in Food

Does it refer to the devastating effects upon the world's wildlife due to Monsanto's herbicides- ' Roundup' in particular - to which Monsanto's own GM crops are ' immune ' thus placing wildlife secondary to selling Monsanto poisons ?

There no way that purveyors of such poisons are going to win this debate, kudzu- so suffice to say that anybody that doesn't WANT Monsanto poisons should not be forced to have them.
Americans have been made Monsanto-dependent by stealth. Shame upon all those who have colluded in this disaster.

Because Anti-Monsanto zealots in europe have banned the stuff so its presence will result in wheat that cannot be exported. More particularly though, Monsanto did have several court wins regarding patent infringements against people alleging that their adjoining crops weren't unlicensed because the wind cross pollinated it with people who had the license to grow it. I personally loathe plant patents.

zombie-wheat causes human brains to turn to mush........

????.....Roundup is not a GMO crop.......that's like saying you oppose potatoes because of Idaho........

So what is wrong with Monsanto wheat? Isn't it drought and pest resistant as well as high yield?

Can farmers gather seeds form a current crop for planting next season?

I want corporate control over the food and water supply, don't we all?

Monoculture, it's the wave of the future.

Commercial farmers do not save seeds. To unreliable for replanting. Hobby farmers maybe.

If they pay Monsanto's annual licensing fee I suppose it could be arranged.

Corporate control, government control. All one and the same.

Monoculture, it's the wave of the future.

Probably not. We are reaching peak phosphorus in a couple/three decades unless new supplies are found. That will put a dink in monculture as mineral fertilizers become increasingly expensive and harder to find.

Indeed, there is no line of demarcation in the United Corporate States of America.

Disappointed you didn't say, "That's okay about the phosphorous. Let them eat steak!!!!" so I could point out that the phosphorus collapse will damage the livestock industry first and the worst. Maybe next time....

US jury orders Monsanto to pay $289m in Roundup cancer trial

Agribusiness giant ordered to pay damages to man who says he got terminal illness after using popular weed killer.

A California jury has ordered chemical giant Monsanto to pay nearly $290m for failing to warn a dying groundskeeper that its weed killer Roundup might cause cancer.

Jurors on Friday unanimously found that Monsanto acted with malice and that its weed killers Roundup and the professional grade version Ranger Pro contributed "substantially" to Dewayne Johnson's terminal illness. It also said the company should have provided a label warning of the potential health hazard.

Another step towards getting this filth out of our environment.

Monsanto supporters- have another Roundup sandwich.

Man has been hybridizing plants for 10,000 years.. Probably started with Chickpeas.

It is early days for gene splicing, what do you imagine could happen in future if crops have animal genes spliced into them? They have already used snail genes in trials. What about insects being genetically engineered, what would be the long term effects of releasing millions of GM insects into the wild? Aren't you uneasy about megacorporations attempting to use patent law to copyright genes in the wild? How about producing GM seeds that cannot reproduce, hence farmers in places like India have buy new seeds every year?
