School Shootings

No guns, no shootings. You do not need guns you big babies. If you locked them up, your kids would not use other kids for target practice.

And you're an idiot, you nor anyone else will ever get rid of guns. Plus you ignore the fact that there is a underlying reason kids are performing these violent acts. Yea like most anti-gun babies you want to blame the tool not the shooters and reasons they do what they do. It's idiots like you that are part of the problem in that you expend an effort in a cause that will never come to fruition. This is all you will ever accomplish :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Thank you for being honest. I totally agree. I honestly believe that part of the problem is these violent video games. They desensitize kids to the carnage.
Other countries have the same video games and do not have this problem, there is no proof video games are a problem.

I imagine that this night many TX parents will go to bed but not sleep because their child is dead or in the hospital. Many more will go to bed unable to sleep because their child could have been dead.

Tonight the gunfuckers will go to bed unable to sleep for fear that FINALLY America will have had enough of this insanity, and do something to stop it. They'll wet themselves in their nightmares because the young people they've failed to protect are coming -- finally -- to take their dick substitutes away via their outraged voting power. The gunhumpers will toss and turn in their restless sleep, hoping that this is all just some national nightmare that will go away when they awaken.

Another turd from the cesspool of society spews it's pathetic hypocritical gibberish, again. Maybe you should take those "custom made single shot handguns" and that "lil arsenal" you say you own and arm your cohorts and come take the firearms we responsible gun owners have.

Even more hilarious is the fact the twit claims to be a gun owner and supporter of the second amendment.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Are you saying violent video games have no effect on children's psych? "Violent Cartoons and Aggressive Preschoolers
A startling picture of how violent cartoons affect very young children."

But you claim violent video games have no effect on children? What planet do you live on?

Yes, I make that claim and I stand by it. There are far more people who play these games that are well adjusted individuals than there are people who walk into schools and shoot them up. If video games were the cause there would be many more shootings taking place. I don’t need a study to realize this. It’s obvious.

I grew up watching violent cartoons and I have never felt the need to hurt another person, let alone commit mass murder.

I'm not smart enough to understand this but I'm 45 and when I was coming up plenty of people had guns but they didn't shoot up schools. Something has clearly fundamentally changed

They did.

Uhh, the number of juveniles committing murder are down from the highs of the 90s or even the 80s.

School shootings are down too.

It does not mean there's not more that can/should be done, but your old fogey response of "kids today" does nothing of value.

Besides that the two worst and still recent mass shootings were not "kids" by any stretch. Grandpas today....

Kids today... in a decade or two they are certain to be bitching about kids of tomorrow and to be just as wrong as those who now bitch about kids of today.

BS!

If there is one connection to media then it might be our obsession with fame. But then you probably voted for Celebrity President, who reinforces that while giving the impression that his tv ratings are of signal importance in the freeing political prisoners.

I said nothing about the number of jeuveniles committing murder I was speaking about school shootings. In another post I specifically said I went to high school in east Oakland during he height of the crack epidemic where there were murders all around yet no shootings occurred at schools.

Your issue isn't with me though. I'm not the one posting school shootings are as common as apple pie. I'm not Lester Holt on NBC saying school shootings are an epidemic. So blame the media and social media for all the coverage and lying that school shootings are up.

Edit: The subject of the thread is school shootings. Not sure why you are talking about this other shootings and "kids today". Who else is shooting up schools?

You confuse normal well adjusted people with people who have underlying psych problems. Just because these games don't effect you doesn't mean that they don't effect a significant number of youngsters. You also ignore the fact that kids can be very mean and hateful to each other. A number bullied in school commit suicide or become shooters as a way out of the pain! So just because you aren't effected doesn't mean these games are suitable for all. Nope sorry but I fully disagree. BTW I'm a combat vet and I don't play violent video games.

Bingo, it isn’t the games, it’s the individuals playing them, thanks for making my point.

You’re old, video games weren’t the norm for your generation.

Thanks for your service.

WTF? I have no idea what you are ranting about.

You then agree that violent video games are harmful to many youngsters and should only be allowed to be purchased by and adult.

Yeah, and you are wrong. School shootings did occur in your/our youth.

The other shootings betray your claim that the issue is generational. The problem is not limited to schools or young shooters. That narrative helps the far right conservative wackos that want to focus on video games, God in school or some other useless crap.

I am not sure what the answers are either but I know they are not going to be found in the simple minded and extremely tired "kids today" rhetoric of the right.

WTF? I have no idea what you are ranting about.

What are you having a problem with?

I am saying your attempt to blame it on "videuh games" is bs! That does not stand up to any scrutiny.

I do think our obsession with fame, which can be tied to media saturation, might be a part of it. Trump is a product of that same problem.

You then agree that violent video games are harmful to many youngsters and should only be allowed to be purchased by and adult.

You mean those games don't have age warning labels on them already? Not to mention, absolutely anything can trigger someone to be violent while having no affect on others. How the hell are we meant to control triggers? We find ways of helping them while controlling what we can...access to firearms. Note I said control, not ban, before you get your knickers in a wad.

Video games is a deflection. The fact is guns are available to those who are immature. I guess you can argue that anyone wanting guns is immature. Want to slow it down, then news stations should show the pictures of those who were shot. The horrible carnage is sanitized by not facing the real horror.
