There have been 14 school shootings since Jan2017. 9 of those were students shooting other students, 1 was a domestic murder suicide, and 4 were outside killers not associated with the school.

Rather than scream gun control we should be working on why these young people think killing will solve anything. Years ago it was kids committing suicide now they murder first. There must be a reason this is happening.

I would hate to see schools looking like high security jails. But we must find a way to keep our schools safe and more gun control isn't the answer.

Yup.

I heard they found explosives at the school in today’s incident. Even if they did take the guns the killers will just find another way.

The implied premise behind the anti-gun response to these shootings is our society is too sick to have access to guns.

I'm not smart enough to understand this but I'm 45 and when I was coming up plenty of people had guns but they didn't shoot up schools. Something has clearly fundamentally changed

Thank you for being honest. I totally agree. I honestly believe that part of the problem is these violent video games. They desensitize kids to the carnage.
 
My first rhetorical question is: Which psychotropic meds were the shooters taking or withdrawing from? Big Pharma is too profitable for the media to ask such questions.

When I was that age, even the thought of doing something like this was unheard of. Guns were far easier to get back then, hell I had 3 or 4 by the time I was his age. What's wrong with kids today?
 
I grew up in Oakland and went to high school in East Oakland during the crack epidemic and there were a lot of murders in the City. But there was never a shooting at a school. I don't know if once it happened at Columbine and got so much attention it that it open the flood gates for copycats.

Of course. We're the very definition of insanity: doing the same thing (or no thing) over and over, but expecting different results.
