SCOTUS decision on Roe could flip the script on the midterms

Your opinion is no more valid than mine. There are only two groups that really take abortion seriously as a political issue:

The radical Left and the religious Right. Outside those two minority groups of voters people don't rank it high as an issue. If Roe went away and each state got to decide its own policy, I seriously doubt it would change much of anything.

Abortion is certainly NOT going to be a pivotal issue in 2022 or 2024.

Abortion may or may not be. But the perception that the country is moving hard right WILL be.

The people who do support Roe are the ones who REALLY support freedom. Not the ones who just give is lip service.

the ones who support it are OK with murder so long as it represents a convenience to them.

its not a freedom issue its a right and wrong issue. Much more basic and clear sign of being a sociopath.

What murder?

I think this is a fiction. Conservatives certainly aren't all "pro life" when something like the invasion of Iraq is being decided.

It's just political for most. They don't really care about "life".

did I mention pro life ? no, I mentioned right and wrong.

wars happen because wrong happens on a large scale sometimes.

murder is the taking of INNOCENT life. nothing innocent about Iraq.

The extreme right - which is now the GOP - has miscalculated on this one. I think SCOTUS will reverse the precedent, and we'll start to see bans and restrictive measures in red states.

A majority of Americans support a legal right to abortion, and close to 70% oppose the idea of overturning Roe. We've always been told it could "never" be overturned. It definitely can be.

It's an earthquake if it happens. Whenever we go too far in one direction, voters make sure we tip the scales back the other way.

Hilarious from the constantly ANTI-CONSTITUTION STALINOCRATS.

What are you talking about? 10's of thousands of innocents died because of our invasion of Iraq.

You supported it, right?

you may recall Iraq invaded Kuwait. Any Iraqi who dies had Hussein to thank.

Would you have been OK with "invading" Nazi Germany ?

That's some interesting logic.

We invaded Iraq unjustly in 2003. They had nothing to do w/ 9/11.

Conservatives who had pom poms out for that unnecessary war are responsible for the innocents lost there.

There was a 12 year gap between Iraq invading Kuwait and Bush invading Iraq. There was also a peace agreement ending the Persian Gulf War. The cause of the Iraq War cannot be reasonable be said to be the Persian Gulf War.

Nazi Germany was invaded when their forces retreated there in the middle of a war. They were still occupying foreign territory at the end of the war. This was not the first action of a war.

A more accurate question is: would we be OK with Nazi Germany invading Poland?

Public opinion should not influence the court's decisions. However, if most people favor abortion they can use their political pressure to make it legal in their state.

States like MS which set the 15 week limit shouldn't affect it that much since 95% of abortions are performed before that period.

You may be right - but I saw some encouraging things on COVID yesterday. They're looking at post-Omicron S. Africa, and some feel optimistic that we could get back to a real "normal life" by spring or summer at the latest.

That would certainly turn the tide on some perceptions - and give a real boost for the economy.

lol......we've been telling you that for months you dense brick.......

The right to abortion is not in the constitution. It is a states right issue. I expect the SCOTUS to return control back to the states.

Hello BartenderElite,

Totally!

That is the one thing that is really impacting everything else. We get out of coronavirus crisis mode and get the economy back on track and all of a sudden Biden is gonna be Golden Boy!

Data shows New York is already post-peak, so is Florida and New Jersey. Michigan, Alabama and California are still rising. A few weeks might make all the difference.
