No link necessary. That's how all class action suits of this sort end. The class in this case numbers in the millions. The lawyers number in the dozens, at most. The law firm(s) bill at some ungodly rate per hour plus claim (usually) 30% of the take. That means in a settlement of $16 billion, the lawyers get about $5 billion off the top leaving $11 billion to be distributed. Let's say, $1 billion goes to distribute the settlement to 10 million persons in the class.

That means at most, each plaintiff gets $1000. If the class is 100 million, then it's $100 per plaintiff.

I know that any math above 5th grade eludes you entirely, but that's how these settlements go.

BTW, Meta and the other defendants will write off this loss against earnings meaning they don't pay taxes as a result.
