I responded to Nomad's comment about murder and violent crime numbers rising. I said if you agree with that I wanted to see stats because everything I've read says otherwise. (Murders may have gone up the past year or two but over the past quarter century they have dropped quite a bit.)

I think the stats Americans should be given fifteen times a day, every day, are the comparisons between their gun-crimes and those of any civilized country. They are horrific, and indicate how insulated from sense the gunmen are.

Here is another statistic; 7% of the US population, namely young black males, are responsible for nearly half of all murders. It is politically incorrect to point this out but then the truth is often a bitter pill to swallow.

The deaths are mostly due to gangs and turf wars, if you want to blame anyone then I suggest you look to countries like Peru, Bolivia and Columbia.
