I was just searching some sites showing the headquarters, watched some tours. Doesn't look like they have any metal detectors or security at the entrance. Visitors had to just be buzzed in from a receptionist inside. A simple metal detector at entrance doors would have been of good use today.
A big operation like that should think about spending more on security instead of pinball machines, giant indoor slides, indoor putting greens, massage rooms, ping pong tables and toys for their millennial employees.
 
News says is a woman in a domestic dispute. She killed herself. She shot her target and person he was with. Other victim, not known how she was shot yet.

I've been in that building and the ones around it multiple times. It would be bad for business putting in metal detectors. No one wants to work in that type of environment.

I hope it is nicer on the inside than it appears on the outside. Looks like dated 70's era generic blah blah buildings connected together. I would expect something a little more showy.

It's exactly what you described. Nothing fancy about them. I feel like YouTube has been there for awhile so clearly fancy space is not part of their company's M.O.

Good for them then. It'll cut down on lawsuits against the companies for not providing a reasonably safe work environment for their employees plus it prevents any complaints about people entering their business with guns.

Entering a state or federal building is a pain in the ass. God help us all if we had to do that every time we wanted to leave and re-enter our office at an office building.

It reminds me of a more scrunched together version of a public school I went to at which playing football in the quad was banned after yours truly went through one of the classroom windows in a righteously spectacular play that tested the teachers ability to stop bleeding.

I worked at 2 jobs where all I had to do was walk straight through a metal detector upon entering. One of those jobs was from 2000>20007 and the other one was from 2008>2012. Not a big deal.
