Particularly the latter; I never "not" blame the shooter. I just don't blame the entire religion, which is what many on the right seem to do in knee-jerk fashion.

I don't know what to blame in today's tragedy. I just know it's depressing.

As far as I can tell, rightwingers are perfectly fine living in a country where schools routinely face a hailstorm of lead bullets. It really does not seem to bother them at all, unless you count the insincere offer of prayers and sad shaking of heads to actually be any sort of tangible effort to stop this kind of shit.

I have never seen rightwingers get very upset about the deaths of hundreds of school kids by this appalling level of gun violence.

You know what I have seen rightwingers get genuinely upset and passionate about? Obamacare.
Or when I told them their idea to invade Iraq was foolish and stupid. That really made them mad.
Medicaid? Foodstamps? Environmental regulations?? Drives the rightrwing absolutely bonkers.

But I have never actually seen anything approaching that level of passion, anger, or emotion at school children being blown away in a maelstrom of relentless gun violence. It seems to have almost no effect on the Reich Wing.

We are a gun-sick society..this stuff didn't happen back when I was in school 60-70's
Now it's a common occurrence

Kids used to knuckle up and fight. Now they do this. As Mott said earlier guns were around back then too. So what's the difference today?

We have no sense of community outside our tribe.. Guns were around back then, but not at the sheer numbers there are now. If you owned guns back in my days, you were considered an oddball.you paid a higher social price the more you fixated on guns
