Well, right now, polling indicates that only about 25% of Independents support Democrats. That means someone running to the Left and voting a straight Democrat party line on things who's in office is totally assfucked come November in any part of the country where Democrats don't make at least near majority of voters. That means politicians like Mark Kelly are not likely at all to stay in office.

No, she got elected with Independent votes. The Democrats are a minority party-- in fact the smallest--in Arizona. Without Independent support a politician in Arizona cannot win statewide office.
