Wally is yet another ignorant fool who likes to PRETEND he knows what he is talking about when in fact he is an ignoramus . Lots of those types in here,...mostly on the left. Very fraudulent people who need to be laughed off the message board stage . These are the kind of people who think that if you take shows like LivePD off the air it means black crime isnt happening...LOL. They tend to hide things instead of fix things.
Defunding the Camden Police, and starting over again, delivered a 70+% drop in murders, a 95+% drop in police complaints, and a sudden cutting off of the police dealing drugs.
It worked.

It happened in 2012, so we have now 8 years of data. I guess we will have 18 years of data in another ten years, but how much more do we need?
Dissolving police forces, and rebuilding them from scratch sometimes does work. Taking funds from police and putting it into other programs also sometimes does work. Neither are always called for, but neither are crazy.
Is there such an “epidemic”? Crime, including murder, is a constant (“epidemics” are temporary)in low rent city districts where poverty, not race, is the causative factor. If it were race similar crime rates would occur among middle class blacks in the suburbs, but they do not. Since January, crime in poor city districts has increased but that is due to the added stress of the pandemic.

They fired all the police, and then decided which police they were willing to take back again. They hired those police back again at often lower pay, and lower positions. They brought in better police to fill out the team. It changed the entire culture of the organization.
I forgot what day of the week it was almost a year ago, and you act like that is your greatest victory. The sad thing is you might be right. That might be your single greatest debate moment. At 4:00am, when I had gone without sleep for two days, I forgot the day of the week.
Want to hear something worse, it has not just happened once. Several times a year, I forget that it is garbage day. I even admit it. You can make a huge deal about that, too.

Abolish ICE and the Border POLICE.

ICE are not the "border police". The "border police" are Customs and Border Protection. It is a completely different department.
ICE did not exist until 2003. Somehow, America survived for 227 years without ICE. You seem to think it is impossible, and yet somehow it happened.
Yes, immigration enforcement can be done by the immigration service. In fact, some would argue that the INS can do a better, more efficient job of immigration enforcement.
Defunding and reforming a police department did work in Camden. Moving funds from policing to social services also worked in Camden. Did Camden do what you think defunding the police is? No, but they did do what the people in Camden think defunding the police is.
Camden's strategy is not for every city, but it sure did work for Camden. You do not seem to be able to respond to that.
