That wasn't my point, that was you trying to hijack the thread by lying about what I said because you don't want to admit you fucked up.
What a fucking loser. Every day Conservatives find new ways to disappoint me.
I'm a liberal.

This is really getting stupid. You can compare Sweden to three other countries or to Europe or to the Eastern Hemisphere or to the world and come up with all kinds of comparisons. You can then multiply that by deaths / cases, deaths/pop, cases/pop. The comparisons are almost endless (total deaths, total deaths/pop, new deaths, new cases, new cases / pop, etc. )and you come up with whatever you want.
Then you can come up with whatever conclusion you want, e.g., LV47563xyz seemingly concludes Sweden, UK and Italy have the crappiest health care systems in Europe. Then there's differences in how different countries report cases.
If you're honest with yourself you'd admit it's pretty random as to how this virus affects different countries, and Sweden overall is doing no better or worse than the rest of the world.
No, it isn't getting stupid. Comparing Sweden to Finland and Norway is the most apt comparison you can make. And they are MUCH worse than their neighbors. They are doing worse than the rest of the world, not 'no better or worse'. It's simple, just look at the world averages, and you can see Sweden on the high side of that average. Sweden has twice the cases per 1 million than the average country, and 5 times as many deaths per million than the average country. You aren't going to be able to 'metric' your way out of this one. Swedens attempt to achieve herd immunity has thus far failed miserably.
And to be honest I don't really care. Never been to Sweden and don't plan on going anytime soon. Looks like we may have to cancel our mid December trip to Germany though. Not worth going anyway with the Christmas markets cancelled as far as I'm concerned. Just entertaining myself fucking with LV4267972.xyz.
As long as I can go to Hawaii from Jan. - April I'm fine.
I will say this... the MatSu borough (we have no counties) is very lax and has been since early summer . I went there to golf , then eat at my favorite brewhouse this past summer. No distancing at the bars, even the waiters weren't masking and they've had 53% the cases/100,000 and 8.3% of deaths/100,000 compared to the Anchorage
borough https://usafacts.org/visualizations/coronavirus-covid-19-spread-map/state/alaska which had an authoritarian mayor before he got caught Anthony Weinering himself and resigned.
Normal for higher population density. All countries are failing.
And that's my argument. Going on and off lockdowns only delays the inevitable. The virus is gonna virus.
.
So if you're just going to dishonestly keep jumping between metrics, then I think this debate has reached its conclusion.
My original claim was that Sweden was one of, if not the worst, for case-deaths in Europe. And then that was confirmed when you posted the Johns Hopkins link that showed that Sweden is #3 in Europe for case-death, behind just the UK and Italy by a mere .3%.
So now, you're moving the goalposts because your attempt to spin what happened in Sweden failed. In that failure you actually helped make MY CASE that Sweden was one of the worst countries for COVID, continues to be one of the worst countries for COVID, and is now adopting most, if not all, of the same restrictions the rest of Europe put in place during the Spring and Summer:
Sweden, having refused to lock down, is now bringing in tougher COVID-19 restrictions as cases and deaths soar. 'This is the new norm,' the prime minister said.

And you know what else? All the lax restrictions have resulted in Sweden now getting record new case counts every day:
Sweden's tougher restrictions come as COVID-19 cases and deaths in the country surge. On Friday, the country reported its highest increase in cases during the pandemic.
And that's my argument. Going on and off lockdowns only delays the inevitable.
What if this vaccine is mostly ineffective, like flu vaccines? We're already being told there's several strains. May as well give up now. What then?
No, I prefer to live my life in spite of the risks. I survived whitewater kayaking, been in a couple of auto wrecks, drove drunk many times in my youth, had unprotected one night stand sex. One more risky thing we have to deal with. I'll take my chances.
