Seen masturbating during Zoom lesson with kids

Marc Schack, an assistant for special education students at Shady Grove Middle School in Gaithersburg, told the Bethesda Magazine he was unaware his self-love session had been captured on the virtual call until being interviewed.

“I thought I was logged out when class was over,” Schack told the mag. “I had no clue that Zoom was still on. Why would I do that? That’s my job. I had no clue that Zoom was on. I mean, that’s just crazy behavior.”

A 13-second clip — later posted on social media – shows Schack gaze at his screen before standing up, taking a few steps away and beginning to pleasure himself.

The 21-year employee for Montgomery County Public Schools – who also runs Pirate Magic, a side business that throws “pirate parties” for youngsters while he portrays a character named “Captain Silly Bones” – said he has since been placed on administrative leave.

Teacher arrested, charged with sexual assault of student

Christina Starnes, 37, is accused of having oral sex with a minor in the back of a car on Jan. 27.

She is charged with sexual assault, improper relations with a student and indecent fondling.

On Jan. 28, a family member of the student met with the superintendent about the alleged assault.

The Azle Independent School District placed Starnes on administrative leave.

Teacher arrested and charged for soliciting a child for sex

A teacher was accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile and soliciting them for sex.

Bay county deputies arrested William Mark Johnston, 57, of Panama City. The victim said Johnston touched her in a sexual manner and he solicited the victim for sex, as well as spoke about wanting to have sex with the victim after she graduated.

As the investigation continued, several other potential victims were identified. Investigators reached out to each potential victim and learned several of Johnston’s current and former students had experienced similar interactions with him.

Investigators said information was developed to suggest that Johnston had a pattern of grooming his victims, as each potential victim provided corroborating information.

Johnston has been suspended with pay.

Parents upset at lack of transparency during investigation into three teachers

In less than a week, there have been three local educators arrested for crimes associated with sexual misconduct with students. The latest was arrested Monday.

Steven Rayle, 58, of Waverly, Georgia, was arrested on four counts of felony sexual battery.

“It seems like they protected the teacher over our children," a mother said.

Two teachers arrested for sexual contact with students, selling marijuana

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two teachers for allegedly having sexual contact with students as well as selling marijuana to them inside the school.

Based on information from witnesses and statements from the suspects, they were taken into custody. It was found the suspects were also selling marijuana and THC vape pods to students inside and near the school.

Lane has been charged with deviant sexual intercourse with a student and having sexual contact with a student.

Farmer was charged with distribution of obscene material to a student and having sexual contact with a student. He is also accused of sending nude photos to a student.

Teacher arrested for child molestation

A Kankakee Valley Middle School teacher has been arrested on felony child molestation charges.

A Jasper County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO), in the morning hours of Feb. 19, for the Kankakee Valley School Corporation was made aware of an allegation of inappropriate communication and touching between a faculty member and a student.

The SRO immediately elicited the assistance of a Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Detective at which time they began an investigation. During their investigation, they met with the suspect, identified as Matthew T. Hostetler, 27, of Valparaiso.

After the interview of Hostetler, it was determined that his statements were consistent with that of which the victim had provided and he was taken into custody, transported to the Jasper County Detention Center, and incarcerated for the charge of child molestation (Level 1 Felony).

Hostetler arrived at KVMS in 2018 with three years of experience at John Young Middle School in Mishawaka. He teaches math in the seventh grade and is a graduate of Valparaiso High School and Ball State.

A teacher has been arrested on charges of sexual contact with a student.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said Ashton McCluskey turned herself in Wednesday afternoon.

She faces two felony charges of a school employee having sexual contact with a student.

McCluskey was listed on the Brooks High School website as a 7th grade math teacher.

Teacher allegedly sexually assaulted, showed porn to 10-year-old girl

A Long Branch elementary school teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old student, and authorities are searching for any potential additional victims.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced the arrest of 53-year-old Gustavo Barrientos, of Tinton Falls, who is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said Barrientos was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Long Branch School District when, on multiple occasions, he showed pornography to a 10-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her.

At this point, school officials have declined to identify at which school the alleged crimes occurred.

Teacher arrested as part of sex crime investigation

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released Monday that Jason Clark was arrested as a result of a sex crime investigation.

According to JSO, Clark was attempting to engage a student in a sex act.

Additional victims may exist, and JSO is asking the community to call 904-630-0500 if they have any information on other potential victims that Clark may have been involved with.

Duval County Public Schools District issued the following statement: “The district is aware and is monitoring the situation as a human resources matter. The employee has been reassigned to duties without student contact until the matter is concluded.”

Teacher charged with sex crimes against two minors

San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that criminal charges were filed against Morro Bay High School teacher Tyler Dale Andree, 24, for multiple sexual crimes committed against two minors between December 2018 and October 2020.

Andree was arraigned on one felony count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, two felony counts of contacting a minor for the purpose of engaging in a sexual offense, and two misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child. The crimes are alleged to have occurred in the County of San Luis Obispo between December 31, 2018, and October 15, 2020.

The prosecutor requested bail of $90,000, but this request was summarily denied by the judge

Teacher pleads guilty to having sex with underage student

Heidi Hallstein, a 57-year-old teacher, has pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition and attempted unlawful conduct with a minor.

The Hudson, Ohio, teacher was arrested last August after local authorities got wind of her alleged sexual misdeeds.

Teacher placed on leave after arrest

A school teacher at Northfield Jr./Sr. High School was arrested after police say he forcefully shoved his youngest daughter within his home.

Kevin Kling, 41, was arrested on allegations he knowingly or intentionally touched a family member in a rude, insolent, or angry manner in the presence of two children under 16 years during an incident at his home around 3:40 p.m.

According to court records, the daughter claimed she was doing dishes after school when Kling “grabbed her by her shoulders and pushed her into the counter,” causing her head to whip back and hit the kitchen cabinets.

Kling’s other children also witnessed the incident, and said their father was drinking had been “drinking heavily” around the time he shoved his daughter, and there were discarded beer cans in the trash, court records said. One of the children said Kling “was drunk when he picked them up from school and that there was a beer in the van that he was consuming,” the affidavit said.

Police also believe Kling was still intoxicated when he was taken into custody.

Kling is currently listed on the Northfield Jr./Sr. High School website as a teacher. The school district said he’s been placed on administrative leave.
