Maris Nichols was arrested in May for allegedly having sexual relations with six students.

Newly filed search warrants revealed Nichols was allegedly being blackmailed by some students over owning and operating an OnlyFans account.

Teacher Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges

Daniel Burbank, 37, of Monroe Township, a teacher and band director at Bloomfield Middle School and assistant band director at Bloomfield High School was arrested on Friday, June 12, 2026. He is charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual contact, criminal restraint, endangering the welfare of a child and luring.

It is alleged that Burbank began engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct when the victim was 13 years old and a student at Bloomfield Middle School. The alleged conduct continued while the victim attended Bloomfield High School.

Bloomington Police have arrested a Chiddix Junior High teacher on charges of grooming and possessing child sexual abuse material, four months after officers executed a search warrant in his classroom.

Police spokesperson Bryce Janssen said a warrant was issued for Andrew “Drew” Miller, 40, of Normal following a grand jury indictment. Officers from the department’s street crimes unit pulled Miller over at a traffic stop at Hamilton Road and Bunn Street. He was taken into custody at 1:12 p.m.

Janssen said prosecutors are seeking 42 counts against Miller: one count of indecent solicitation of child, one count of grooming and 40 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. Janssen said that includes video and photographic images.

Miller is expected to appear at a detention hearing Thursday afternoon in McLean County court.

Janssen said Bloomington Police launched an investigation into Miller on Feb. 9 after a victim reported they had exchanged photographs with Miller. The photos were alleged to be sexual in nature and were sent when the victim was a minor, while Miller held a position of trust or authority, police said.

On Feb. 18, officers executed multiple search warrants in the investigation, including a search of Miller's classroom during the school day. Unit 5 said the school was placed on a soft lockdown, where students and staff were held in place during the search.

Police said investigators seized several electronic devices and had them forensically analyzed by the department's cyber crimes unit. Police identified at least five additional victims during the investigation.

The district informed families that Miller had been removed from the classroom “for the foreseeable future.”

Miller, who taught seventh-grade science and language arts, was placed on paid administrative leave.

Teacher arrested after survivor reports years-old abuse

A northern Arizona elementary school teacher was arrested after reports that he molested a boy years ago, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) said Friday.

Detectives said the investigation started when the mother of an 18-year-old told a deputy at her church that her son was molested by a man when he was 11 or 12 years old.

During the following week, YCSO said detectives determined the suspect was Chester Cox, 31, of Cottonwood, a teacher at Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary School.

Teacher accused of exchanging nude images with student: affidavit

The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a former West ISD teacher and coach as it investigates allegations of an improper relationship involving the educator and a student.

Dylan Goforth, 34, was arrested as a result of an investigation that began in January 2026, according to the sheriff’s office.

Goforth was involved in “inappropriate electronic communications with a minor-aged student he met while employed as a teacher and coach in McLennan County,” the sheriff’s office said.

The investigation revealed Goforth and the student had been communicating via social media, and according to sheriff’s office, the communications included the exchange of nude images.

An arrest affidavit obtained by KWTX alleges explicit communications took place initially through Instagram and moved to Snapchat where Goforth sent images to the student and discussed his past sexual experiences.

The complaint states Goforth discussed being with men sexually and participating in “threesomes.” These conversations escalated into Goforth sharing pictures of his penis with the 16-year-old victim, according to the arrest complaint.

Investigators were also able to identify other students that Goforth had been in communication with. However, no other contacts were related to criminal offenses, MCSO said.

Goforth was additionally found to have had an account for a website “geared towards Bondage-Dominance-Sadism-Masochism (BDSM), fetish, and kink communities” where he would post explicit pictures of himself, according to the arrest complaint.
