Thanksgiving

Mostly they will talk about each other and other relatives. At my house it will be whispers like, "They could have at least tried to clean up before we came over. This place is a pig sty."

what will families talk about

I think I'm going Casino-hopping along the Mississippi Coast for Thanksgiving. It should be uncrowded early in the day, ... and then get really crowded starting in the late afternoon. I'm guessing the Buffet will be pretty good.

My insurance brokerage sends me newsletters and greeting cards. This year's Thanksgiving card came with table cards that can be used to promote healthy conversation. I thought it was pretty funny.

What a ridiculous fucking celebration of being on the winning side of colonial genocide Thanksgiving is. Thanks for the land, complying and dying, pass the dressing.

Thanksgiving only started to be hyped as a national holiday in the Civil War. It was to distract from the fact that the first English colony in America was Jamestown, Virginia.

It worked, too. Now most people think that the first settlers were the Pilgim Fathers.

Since it's just the girlfriend and me, we always make reservations at the same restaurant. Great traditional Thanksgiving food with none of the work. What will we talk about? I don't know because she rarely stops talking. :)

All part of properly socializing a subjugated population.

thanksgiving sucks. I will kill this holiday for my family in the long term. it's an ongoing battle. one day the tradition will be dead, hopefuly.

Everything was stolen from Virginia. Even Thomas Jefferson's Bill of Rights was stolen from George Mason and put in simple sentences so Colonial Yankees and modern day conservatives could comprehend.

The genes in me from the losing side of that genocide don't seem to mind some free punkin' pie. Reparations are reparations. :awesome:

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.

It is simple and pure. Just sharing a meal with family and friends.

And I like to pig out!

It never fell victim to the consumerism and commercialism of other holidays, there is no pressure to buy anything, and the only expectation is to cook, eat, talk, and visit.

The Massachusetts Bay Colony was vastly more successful than the Virginia Company of London, to include birthing the American Revolution. Of course, the Thanksgiving story is about Jamestown, so, there is that.

I like the atmosphere of Christmas and the religious experience of Easter. But, your point about Thanksgiving is good.
