Athens, Greece was the worlds first attempt at a democracy. It lasted only a short time before it dissolved into a dictatorship and was later overthrown. The pressure of the Peloponnesian War certainly didn't help. The fall of Athens finally resulted in rule by Oligarchy, under the command of the Spartans, which won that war (the final victory was at sea).

Rome began as dictatorship, then became an oligarchy. For about 200 years they were a republic and prospered beyond belief during that time. It didn't last, however, since the slave rebellion pressured a return to dictatorship, with Crassus as the first dictator after this period. Crassus resolved the slave rebellion, and also conquered part of Sparta. Thus began the long history of dictator after dictator, eventually resulting in the fall of Rome altogether. By 1377, the Papacy returned to Rome, and established Vatican City. The Catholic Church, and Vatican City with it, rule by oligarchy, using a system of cardinals spread across many regions to determine who the Pope is going to be. While the Pope looks like a theocratic dictator, he is not. His power is established only by the Cardinals.

England was a dictatorship for many years, generally following the feudal system of government. Today's playing cards reflect this system of government. Each suit represents one of the castes in feudal society:
Clubs: the peasants.
Diamonds: the merchants.
Hearts: Royalty.
Spades: the military.

Spades are generally considered the highest suit, and clubs the lowest. After all, he who controls the military controls royalty, the merchants, AND the peasants.

Eventually revolts against the king resulted in documents such as the Magna Carter, and the rule of England changing to an oligarchy instead, leaving the 'king' as a mere figurehead. Power resides in the House of Lords now.

Other revolts against English rule took place around the world, forming independent nations. The most familiar to us here, of course, is the anti-British Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, the founding of the United States as a federated republic, and the War of 1812, when Britain tried again (and lost).

Notable challenges came with the secession of several States and them forming their own confederation and constitution in an effort to avoid the federal government's attempts at seizing private property (notably the slaves). The War of Secession followed, fought between the United States (also called the Union), and the Confederated States of America (also called the Confederates). The CSA lost that war, and those States were not allowed to rejoin the Union until they agreed to outlaw slavery. Slavery still exists in the United States, of course (supported by Democrats), but illegally...notably in maid service and sex slavery.

Today, the United States is again dealing with internal rebellion, this time in the form of insurrection against the United States of America by the SDTC and SOTNY, as well as officials in Illinois. Again, this rebellion will be quashed. It is violent and senseless and has too few numbers to succeed.

The Democrat party has been taken over by radicals, leading this rebellion. The end result of this is the Democrat party becoming a fringe party, never to return to power again. Moderates, who made up the bulk of the Democrat party in the past, are leaving it. Who could blame them?

A new party may form from them, or they may just remain part of the Republican party. Personally, I see quite possibly a Moderate Party forming (as yet unnamed) out of the mess.

DEMOCRATS organized the rioting, taking months to do it...Nancy Pelosi was central in the planning of this.
DEMOCRATS conducted the 'investigations' and, unsurprisingly, blamed Trump for it.
DEMOCRATS caused the 2020 election to fault, subverting the will of the people.
The US Capitol was not destroyed.

Both have shifted further and further Alt-Right over the past few years. I believe Terry is having age-related cognitive issues. Damo is a family man under a lot of stress which is weirding him out.
