The battle over Trump, which side is winning?

The OP puts it perfectly—Democrats are making Trump the issue.

They never listen to me lol, but I think that’s a mistake. I know it’s a mistake, actually. The only question is how big of a mistake it is.

Outside of The Bubble, people are sick of hearing about Russia and/or collusion. Mueller may come up with something but that looks increasingly unlikely. In fact, democrats may have their own ‘Mueller issue’ to contend with by November—in the form of the Huber investigation which the media is dutifully doing it’s best to ignore.

The economy is dong so well democrats have been forced to try and credit Obama for it. Trump has weathered ‘Stormy’ and every other political storm that would sink a normal politician. Trump has made significant progress with NK, he is pressuring China on trade concessions like no one ever has.

Meanwhile, I can’t name a single idea democrats are going to run on in November, except—‘no more Trump’.

Maybe it’s just me, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I agree but that isn't a platform since to be against someone who doesn't do much you would kind of need to promise at least something. The DNC will also have a funding problem. They can afford to put $10M into winning a congressional seat they have killed off come November when that is the only real race being run right now, but when there are better than 450 races being run, they don't have the cash to do that.

If you cannot sell yourself without invoking the name of your opponent, you don't really have a platform

Contrast it with the first midterm election of the Obama era.

There was plenty of ‘anti-Obama’ in the republican ranks, but, it also gave rise to the Tea Party movement which was a policy-oriented movement centered around smaller, less intrusive government and lower taxes.

Essentially, the TP was a fiscal movement.

And even as the fringe-right we’re claiming Obama was a Muslim, the major policy initiative was to overturn Obama care. And everyone knew these things—both on the left and right.

I don’t have the first clue about what democrats are going to run on.

My guess is gun control will be one but a lot of those candidates in red districts are going to have to walk a fine line in the south and fly over country. The thing that the DNC misses is that a lot of people who already have voted for Trump didn't particularly like him as a person to begin with so continuing to paint him the way they already see him isn't going to break a lot of new ground for them. It is the old, "I support him as President, not as my Pastor"

She sounds like a realist lol.

People in your own party recognize that democrats are so focused on being anti-Trump that ‘anti-Trump’ has become their message.

Which would be ok, except that Trump has had some success with his agenda. You’ll deny it of course, but millions of voters are going to see it differently.

Forget Trump for a minute [assuming your capable lol] what *policy changes* should democrats be advocating?

I provided a link to their platform which you are too thick to read. I have no desire to discuss with the likes of you.

if you guys are truly concerned with the impact of the tariffs on Americans go buy a bottle of soybean oil and a bunch of pork tenderloins.....find some guy who was planing to buy a Chinese made car and give him $100 to save him from the impact of the tariffs.........don't roll on your back and offer your throat to the Chinese......

just another moronic uneducated deplorable

would appear you arent interested in reading the dems platform. you just prefer to be an ass

bringing china in line. carthago delanda est.

Also I think you will see a fundamental transformation of the middle east under trump. Getting there wont be pretty but what he is doing has a better chance of establishing jew-sunni hegemony over the area and breaking iran than other things that have been tried in the past.

"Bringing China in line", you cannot be serious.

Not so long ago I recall the repubs saying "the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Dream on, self deluded bitch.
The swamp Donald is draining is the GOP itself.
Sucks to be ignorant like you.

Nothing lol?

What if he wins the trade war with China? China needs our consumers more than we need their products, so it’s a distinct possibility Trump will come out on top. Just to name one issue.

How will democrats run against that? Or are you pulling for China.

I guess you missed the news Tooth Jr.

The WH is backing away from the idiotic trade war.
You have nothing but a fat orange slut in the WH and you are losing Congress and the Governors.

A link to the platform lol?

Why should I, a political junkie, be forced to scour the internets to dig up the democrats platform? I shouldn’t have to go looking for it. I should be hearing it from democrats, but it’s always Muh Russia or hyperventilating over something Trump said.

All the time.

Well, not entirely accurate. Their message is "Not Trump." *sigh* You are right, the (D)s are hopelessly disorganized and lack a unifying voice, leader, or platform.

No, they have a platform, Hillary just didn't care about it, thought she knew better.

Why should they be listening to you? They have literally outperformed historic results - by significant margins - in every single election & special election since Trump was elected. Even some Republicans are starting to talk about the "blue wave" that's coming in November.

And are you sure about that "so well" for the economy? You watching the market lately? How's about that jobs report yesterday?

How much did your paycheck increase?
Be honest.
