It was the aftermath where it all went wrong. There should have been a strong and robust UN presence sent there to protect airports, ports, refineries, government buildings and vital infrastructure. The rebels should has been encouraged to disarm and join a national army. None of that was done, so it was hardly surprising that Libya descended into chaos and tribalism.
