The Readers Digest version on why Trump is a very ethically challenged person.

He has an adult life time personal history of unethical acts all documented in the public record.

The definition of the public record are the reams of books, articles, civil and criminal court testimony, depositions under oath, Trump’s own recorded words, all of which paints a stark, vivid, picture of his comings and going’s over his adult life.

He has betrayed three wives in a very public and humiliating way. He has bankrupted companies leaving his investors in the lurch. He has stolen using fraud, some if which in uniquely ugly ways; a charity, a university. He has a wake of thousands of victims he’s taken millions of dollars from. He lies, he cheats, he grifts. That his adult life and it makes of him an undeniably very bad, unethical, person.

Now, IF we accept that the question is this:

Politics totally aside how can any person giving the power of the Presidency to such a person not be one of two things:

1) Completely naive of Trump’s abysmal track record, in which case one has to question their ability to observe the obvious. I mean it is blatantly in one’s face his bad character and horrendous behavior. One has to be able to DISCERN his lack of ethics relatively easily, or…

2) They know darn well precisely the kind if person Trump is and they gave him the most powerful elected position in the world. In which case one has to question there ethics.

Can MAGA supporters be considered ethical people themselves if they willfully gave power to a person as unethical as Donald J. Trump?

It’s a legitimate question. Its answer could well determine whether we are a society/culture in steep decline. Certainly, it would be hard to argue we are not just that if we conclude that Trump is a despicable example of humanity, that such is known, yet we made him our leader.

Again, not pot stirring. Serious question, based on what logic suggests of the situation, and just what do we do with this if I’m right? Do we even have a chance to remediate and rectify our decline, or are we too far gone?

I think all of the talk about morality and wanting a good honest president from the conservatives and the Christian Right was made up moral posturing. They never cared about morality. We know that now.

There were 77,302,580 votes for Trump in 2024. Do you think they are all "unethical"?

We are a society in decline. We have our youth talking about communism as a legitimate form of governing. Gays marching on college campuses wearing tee shirts that say, “Queers for Palestine”, a group of people most of whom would stone gays to death if they had a chance.

MAGA put a documented swindler, cheat, philanderer con man with pathological issues into the most powerful office in the world because he played a business mogul on a reality TV show (a bad one at that).

No, I don’t think they are all unethical (though you truly have to wonder). Some of them just aren’t very smart.

I don't disagree. Young minds are being led astray. My friend's daughter left for college a conservative, returned with
a far left, protesting attitude.

7.3 million people put Trump in office. Do you really think there was an alternative? I don't, and 7.3 million agreed.
If you think we agree with every one of Trump's policies, you're a fool. Agreeing with some of the most relevant
positions isn't worshiping, as some here say.

Yes you do. You think we are all unethical. Don't lie.

YOUR LOGIC ON THIS IS SPOT ON, MD.

SPOT ON!

I'll bet you golf with some of them. Just sayin'

Some of them are in my immediate family...and some are among my best friends. And some I do golf with.

They know how I feel...I do not hide my feelings or opinions. We just do not discuss politics or this sad excuse for an administration. Not that hard to compartmentalize in the interests of friendship or relationship.

Smart, ethical, people realize a truth…

You never move forward toward a better place putting corruption, greed and unethical people into places of authority. It’s even worse if they are a tad pathological (as corrupted, greedy unethical people have a higher percentage to be than the rest of us).

You don’t “drain a swamp” by pouring pond scum into it.

As to an alternative? There is always a better way than the above. Our better way is finding consensus to achieve a singular voice. The kind of numbers than can speak truth to power and then demanding the autocratic corporatists to stand down and better, non-corrupted, candidates from the two major political parties.

It is certainly not what MAGA is doing. That’s simply going to speed our way to an other major economic crash, a long depression and possibly another world war.

They've been putting corrupted, greedy and unethical people into places of authority for years. Way too many to list , from local on up.
So don't hand me that bullshit.

MAGA? That's painting a large number of people with a small brush. Absolutely better than the alternative. No question about it.

They? Who is they? They is us. WE put corrupt, greedy and unethical people in places of authority. We elect them and we did it on steroids with Trump. All we have to do is stop, and in a collective voice demand better. The problem is achieving the collective voice. As long as we remain fractured, operating against our own best interests, the small minority controlling our government gets to continue doing so.

Good luck trying to get through to Rusty on this.

My guess: Ain't gonna happen...but I appreciate you giving it an attempt.

My guess is that the immersion is way to deep with him.

Yes, you are correct. I believe in standing for our National Anthem. No men in women's sports, offending assholes with age old sports team's names, etc.

So you provide no evidence, no cites, no specifics. Just your hatred of Trump.

I think all of the talk about morality and wanting a good honest president from the conservatives and the Christian Right was made up moral posturing. They never cared about morality. We know that now.

We wanted a pitbull to get in the ring and fight you Communists on your own level. We didn't elect someone to soothe your feelz. We hired a fighter to go toe to toe with the most evil people in the nation, the democrats.

So you provide no evidence, no cites, no specifics. Just your hatred of Trump.

Stop. I’ve listed many of his wrongs against others on pages like these, including here, and you just say, “Never happened.” Despite the fact that it’s all been heavily documented and much of it been vetted through our legal system. His victims number in the thousands. The amounts taken from them in the hundreds of millions. He’s now blown people up who he hadn’t even proven to a level of probable cause had committed any crime, and the crime he accused them of (drug smuggling) isn’t a capital offense. He’s started a war.

So what is it; do you have a memory problem or is it you just won’t acknowledge the obvious?
