Why? Easily explaned:
Hunter Biden's paintings sell for what the market sets as their pricing. What Hunter thinks they are worth is not withstanding. He can attempt to sell them for $10M apiece. Any one can set any price they want on things they are selling, It is their legal right to do so. They are only worth that IF someone pays it.
Trump on the other hand wasn't setting values things he was selling, he was illegally commiting to writing on forms for that purppse his property. One price for the tax man, so they'd charge him less tax. Another for his bankers and insurers so they would cover them and lend him money based on those figure. Claiming those were assessed values [not his opinion]. All in violation of the law, but because he is of influence they just sued him instead of charging him criminally. You and I would go to jail for that kind of horse crap.
