I am bemused about these automation predictions. Yet with all our automation we have created MILLIONS of jobs and significantly increased our productivity and quality of life.

Productivity is way up along with CEO salaries.

For the masses real wages haven't budged since 1970.

Capitalism is proving to be about as inferior as Communism.

Much of our taxes & gov expenses go towards the elderly's retirement, veterans, the disabled & schooling for children.

Leave it to Republicans to pick on the Vets, the elderly, the disabled & children.

That doesn't mean abuses don't exist.

But, a lot of homeless are awaiting section 8 & or didability.

Capitalism causes poverty too.

Republicans commonly blame low wage workers for being that.

Proves Republicans don't quite grasp Capitalism.

Capitalism requires the jobs it does & so long as the market sets poverty wages for sone jobs that will be the case.

Even if everyone had a 140 IQ & a PhD degree some would still be mowing lawns, flipping burgers & cleaning toilets.

Sorry loser. I'm on the young side of generation X. I pursued a degree that would land me a good paying job.

Nobody forced you to go to college, you could have taken up a trade.

The female work force? What's the matter, can't compete in the workforce against women? That's even more pathetic than getting a degree in fart therapy. There are some trades that hardly any women work in, you know.

Actually under LBJ poverty declined by a lot due his social programs.

LBJ is also the top economic GDP producer since FDR.

That's because the money is dumped back into the economy by consumerism.

As for giving people better jobs?

The system dictates many menial low paying jobs.

Also many people can't work much if at all due to disabilities.

In small doses adding women into the labor force isn't necessarily bad.

The issue is it was far too much too quickly which collapsed wages.

Many women are great workers & producers look ay Marie Curie Sklodowska.

As for chosing Art Therapy it is a matter of more than greed.

I know most Republicans are greedy & miserly wretches.

But, the choice is mostly due to my strengths & enjoyment of Art & Psychology.

A lot of people can be in high income jobs and very miserable & thus underperform or even get fired or quit.

My Polish American father was a draftsman & hated it.

So he became a teacher with his Masters degree in teaching & history.

He did okay. Making over 90K a year back in the 90s.

You Republicans AKA Individualists almost appear Autistic.

You get hyper focused on just greed.
Very one track minded & obsessive like many Autistic people.

Also the lack of care for society & the poor is a sign of social alienation.

Its funny that in this country I'm basically a swing voter centrist.

Denying fracking pollution, mocking an Art therapist degree, saying social programs hurt the poor, saying American workers deserve less wages & that I should commit suicide.

Because I could be driven to vote Republican.

I am anti- Abortion, pro-Gun rights, anti- Illegal, for lowering property taxes & for Religious Christian values.

I also however, support national healthcare, environmental protection, in limiting college debt & that social programs help more than they hurt the poor.

Indeed. An entire industry of computer programmers, IT personnel, telecommunications maintenance technicians, and of course online sales companies like Amazon were created out of nothing, simply by the innovation behind the personal computer.
An incredible creation of wealth through automation.

It should be minimized.

In sensible circles people weigh in the benefits & minuses.

Fracking creates jobs true.

But where & how much matter.

First off fracking a ton now releases a ton of resources all at once & also a ton of pollution all at once.

If we minimize it we save the reserves for future generations & soften the pollution blow.
