“It’s not a question of if,” said a former senior administration official who remains in contact with Trump and his senior advisers. “It’s when.”

After the sentencing on Thursday, Trump walked right up to the line as he laid out his thinking on a potential pardon for Stone. He argued with little evidence that Stone's jury was "tainted" with anti-Trump bias and lavishly praised Stone's family.

"I want to see it play out to its fullest, because Roger has a very good chance of exoneration," he said, a likely reference to Stone's recent petition for a new trial and a possible appeal.

"But we will watch the process and watch it very closely," he added during a graduation speech for former prisoners. "And at some point I will make a determination. But Roger Stone and everybody has to be treated fairly."

Trump aides in the White House and circling around his 2020 reelection campaign say the president is just being cautious and heeding advice to at least wait to move on Stone until after the court process plays out a little bit more. And among people close to Stone, there’s high confidence that the president will remember the 35-plus year relationship the two men share and ultimately spare him from going to prison.”

Yeah, maybe Mr. ugly to the bone will drop dead in prison. And if the Impeached One pardons him, maybe he will drop dead anyway. They should bury him upside-down so that his Nixon tattoo is facing up instead.

Not necessarily, he was found guilty of what was it five felonies to include witness tampering, the prosecutors just submitted what existing guidelines recommended for those offenses

Given his age, and being a white collar crimes, he probably was never was going to get nine years, billy barr blew what little credibility he might have had over nothing

Translation, Stone has a lot of dirt on Trump and the last thing Trump wants to do is piss him off, he doesn't need another Michael Cohen in an election year

The best part that will trigger leftists? The "SENTENCE" will not be effective (meaning no actual jail time) until "the motion for a new trial is decided". :bigthink: Hummmmmmmm!

Truth? This leftist judge....who clearly had her marching orders from ABOVE, in order to save face and keep her part of some prearranged dictate (most likely she was being blackmailed by the usual corrupt players). She knows the case will most likely result in a NEW TRIAL because of the corrupt jury Voir dire where the jury foreperson had a prejudice against TRUMP...and the judge refused to withdraw her from the jury pool upon request from the defense.



Read from the last paragraph.....verbatim, "The sentence will not take effect until.....JACKSON rules on a motion for a NEW TRIAL." Now.....that's typical of left wing tactics. Again they have the mule attempting to push the plow. Why sentence anyone with the actual outcome of the case is still not DETERMINED? It was another dog and pony show to give the press a little red meat. :palm: They always attempt to bury the real information after a yellow journalism HEAD LINE.

This case is a long way from over. What? No one has ever heard of an Obama judge being overturned on APPEAL? Really?

Well, you seem to be saying both things at once lol.

The only way to wring 9 years out of it was to aggregate the offenses. You kind of have to want to do that; either to make an example out of someone or because—I don’t why. Stone is an elderly non-violent first offender that committed ‘victimless crimes’. Stone didn’t rob anyone, hurt anyone, rape anyone or etc.

Barr became aware of it and stepped in to rectify the situation. I’m not sure why anyone would have a problem with it.

Bigpig cannot understand that some professionals respect the law and act accordingly. It is alien to rightys who filter all actions through a filter that tips to "does it help me". If so, it is good.
