The Godless left showing their tolerance!

Hello Woverine,

I'd like to comment on just that part right there.

Wasn't Jesus a socialist?

If Jesus was a socialist, how does that make that a bad thing?

Similar reasoning with 'progressive.' We must have progress. How is wanting progress a bad thing? Progress is inevitable. We need to embrace progress. Embracing progress is reality. Embracing progress is being a progressive, a good thing.

I think the liberal approach is best for society.

And a country that Promotes the General Welfare.

Jesus was more a communist than a socialist.

Neither is "evil."

Capitalism, the way it is being run right now at this moment in our country...is very close to being what I consider EVIL.

You are not alone in that assessment.

Michael Moore found Priests and Bishops who said the exact same thing, without hesitation.

Capitalism is based on worshiping money, worshiping a false God.

Inheritance taxes should be much, much higher and more reaching than they are now.

I have no problem with a couple hundred thousand being exempted...and up to a million dollars at a marginal rate...but above that...95% tax.

The bullshit of wealth being perpetuated as you outlined above...should be a thing of tet past.

As the article I posted said:

"With Thomas Jefferson taking the lead in the Virginia legislature in 1777, every Revolutionary state government abolished the laws of primogeniture and entail that had served to perpetuate the concentration of inherited property."

Makes me wonder if those laws are still on the books.

Maybe we can create some sensible inheritance laws before the Bezos fortune is passed along.

Like a wealth tax rather then the income tax, and in place of the estate tax? I am sure the Founders would agree, Christ would agree, I seriously doubt the godless right wing would agree.

BTW, those like Gates, and Buffet, have already agreed.

Trump even thought it was a good idea in 1999:

Primogeniture and entail about the oldest son getting it all, isn't it?

Hello OT,

It's true. Here's a snip from your link:

"In 1999, billionaire Donald Trump proposed a “one-time” net worth tax of 14.25 percent on people worth $10 million or more to help pay off the national debt. He claimed it would raise $5.7 trillion and would wipe out the debt in one fell swoop, as CNN put it. In a written statement, he said that “no one has put forward a plan to make this country entirely debt free as we enter the next millennium. The plan I am proposing today does not involve smoke and mirrors, phony numbers, financial gimmicks, or the usual economic chicanery you usually find in Disneyland-on-the-Potomac.”

His rationale was based on the idea that the top tier held much of the country’s wealth. Trump noted that “by my calculations, 1 percent of Americans, who control 90 percent of the wealth in this country, would be affected by my plan. The other 99 percent of the people would get deep reductions in their federal income taxes.”

According to him, his plan would have other benefits as well. Trump claimed it would save the federal government $200 billion a year in interest payments and enable leaders to cut taxes on the middle class and make Social Security “solvent through the next century.”

Emphasizing the strong leadership personified by this proposal, he argued, “It is a win-win for the American people, an idea no conventional politician would have the guts to put forward.”"

Wow. My, how times have changed. I would have been tempted to vote for somebody who said that.

Too bad he wasn't committed to that great idea. Sadly, he was just tossing things out there, bouncing all over the political map:

"Trump's political party affiliation has changed numerous times over the years. He registered as a Republican in Manhattan in 1987,[344] switched to Independent in 1999, Democrat in 2001, and back to Republican in 2009.[344] He made donations to both the Democratic and the Republican party, party committees, and candidates until 2010 when he stopped donating to Democrats and increased his donations to Republicans considerably.[345]"

know what is interesting, the torah was given to the Jewish people and it pertained to Jews and no one else

Just as the bible predicted thanks for making my point! It doesn't change the correctness of the Bible. Just shows peoples coldness toward good!

“The Bible is the word of God"
"How can you be sure it's the word of God?"
"Because the Bible tells us so"
"Why believe the Bible?
"The Bible is infallible"
"How do you know it's infallible?"...

There are numerous scriptures referring to a womans role in the Church, and the family. But since most "christians" believe the word of God is a book of suggestions one can understand your confusion.

Yean.. the idea seems to be to punish Eve.

he wasn't anything but calling on his follower to serve the poor.
That does not necessarily mean he meant to do it thru government

"Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's"

Do you object to programs to help the poor on religious grounds?
