The Milwaukee Brewers remind me of...........

Brewers up 2-0 in 5 game series with Cubs. Looking real good for Milwaukee now,...not so much for the cubbies.

Bye bye Tigers!

Seattle & Toronto: Seattle leads 1-0 atm. I'm good with that.
L.A. & Milwaukee: starts tonight. Go Brew Crew!

I do think it's going to be tougher for Milwaukee now that they allowed the Cubbies series to go to 5 games while the Dodgers/Phillies series ended in 4 games. Plus, the Dodgers have been hot lately (Milwaukee just happened to meet them at the correct time during the season).

Milwaukee still has the ability to get past them, but it'll be tough.

And tough it's been... down 2 games with the series moving to L.A. ... Milwaukee's offense has completely vanished. One of the Dodgers' weaknesses is their bullpen, but when Milwaukee can't put any hits together, the Dodgers don't even need their bullpen. Ugh.

Do you believe in miracles?

@Stone This might just be "the year" for the Brewers? 100 wins!!!! Just gotta get past the damn Dodgers... hopefully somebody beats up on 'em beforehand.

It's too bad that Harrison's pitching went down the shitter as of late, but Miz and Henderson have both been absolutely phenomenal!

Agreed on all. And Bobby Gasser is coming on strong too. Im thinking they win 102 games. Last game you clear out the benches and rest every pitcher that matters. The win or loss means nothing even if we lose 16 to zip. Take a couple days then get right back out on that practice field to stay hot.

Im thinking that this is FINALLY our year! The last and ONLY time the Brewers made to the world series was 1982. I was an 18 year old kid. I am now 62.....I am OWED this! LOL . Fitting that our regular season this year ended with a three game series against the Cardinals,....the team that beat us in the world series all those years ago 4 games to 3. In those years the Brewers could really hit the ball out of the park. But the Cards had great team speed and defense and fabulous pitching. Again,...how fitting that the Brewers actually resemble that old Cards team a lot more than they do the earlier Brewers version. Like I said when I first posted this thread,........The current Brewers play a brand of ball right out of the 60's and 70's. Good little hitters that make contact, speed on the bases and in the field along with excellent defense and outstanding pitching from top to bottom. Pretty hard to beat. Old school Manager too. The way he runs things drives the other teams CRAZY. Do all they can to drive the opponents starting pitcher out early by running up the pitch count on him by not swinging at junk. Get into they're bull pen and LIGHT THEM UP. As an added bonus,...when they get on base they are constantly stealing. Gonna be a challenge,.......but I think they are up for it. My only regret is that I wish Ueck could have made it to see it all unfold in person. Would have LOVED that for him,........best play by play man Baseball has ever seen or will ever see. He was THE BEST!

Better yet,...our future is bright. Not only do we have far and away the best farm system in the bigs but some of our young Brewers currently playing are future All stars. The other day It hit me,.......in a way our top two starting pitchers are kind of the reincarnation of Nolan Ryan and Greg Maddox when it comes to Miz and Henderson. Henderson gets overlooked somewhat but he shouldn't,....IMO he is right there with Miz but in a different way. Miz dominates with that record setting fast ball like Ryan did,....Henderson is more like a Maddox guy,...pin point accuracy, smart, calm and in control. What a 1-2 punch at the top of the order,....and BOTH YOUNG KIDS!!!!

Miz.......16-5 with a 1.80 ERA and 252 K's

Henderson.......11-3 with a 2.47 ERA and 110 K's.

Did you drink Old Style beer as a teenager?

Did you drink Old Style beer as a teenager?
LMAO!!!!! Are you kidding me? In 1982 that's ALL we drank up North when were were that age" 18". Super popular among the young. All the older guys drank Pabst, Miller, Schlitz and Stroehs. We drank it by the can, glass, quarter and Half barrel. Quarters were for house party's Halfs were for field parties! We even had our own tapper,...Old style of course.

And also Partied like rock stars at the Thirsty Whale and Fair Dinkum in Minocqua in those days! Wouldn't doubt if you did some Friday and Saturday nights in those spots back in the day. In summer time those spots each had live music 6 nights a week and the bands were awesome! I had many MANY buckets hanging on the ceiling at the Whale with my name on them in those days. :ROFLMAO:

Remember these guys from up North? They actually made it kind of big for awhile there. Not huge,...but like top 100. They had a couple hit fairly big.

Whenever I go home the first thing I do is pick up a 6-pack of Old Style and knock on a friends door who still lives in the old neighborhood.

Even before we were teenagers the corner pizza shops would deliver Old Style with the pizza, so we had it delivered to the junkyard down the street and gave the driver $1 to keep his mouth shut.

I took photography and graphic arts in high school so we had fake IDs by 14yo. I'll never forget the first time walking into a bar and getting served.

First game is tomorrow... c'mon Brewers!

I was hoping for a match up with the Cubbies, because they're pussies, but I figured it would be the Padres because they've been hot down the stretch. Fucking Machado can still go fuck himself. Wouldn't mind seeing him get pelted by a 100+ mph fastball.

2-0 on the Padres... just one more win tonight and we're off to the next round while the Dodgers and Braves keep fighting it out.. GO BREW CREW!!!

Well,...its on to the Dodgers. I think, hope, pray,...THIS is the year they get vanquished! Time to stick a sabre deep into they're hearts right off the bat. I " THINK" we got em this year. But as always anything can happen. We have one thing that NOBODY else has.........bar n one the best Manager AND pitching coach in all of baseball. Pat Murphy is the man! He is an absolute treasure and has been a real joy to watch his throughout a long season. His teams are all hustle ALL THE TIME with a helluva lot of brains behind every move.

I was an 18 year old kid the last and ONLY time I saw them get to a World series. I'm owed this! :)

Remember when they were an American league east team? WOW,...talk about a murderers row. Just BRUTAL. You could be an excellent team and not even sniff the playoffs back then because they had no wild card teams.

Heres 1979 just as an example....

  • Baltimore Orioles: 102–57 (.642) — (—)
    • Milwaukee Brewers: 95–66 (.590) — (8.0 GB)
    • Boston Red Sox: 91–69 (.569) — (11.5 GB)
    • New York Yankees: 89–71 (.556) — (13.5 GB)
    • Detroit Tigers: 85–76 (.528) — (18.0 GB)
    • Cleveland Indians: 81–80 (.503) — (22.0 GB)
    • Toronto Blue Jays
      : 53–109 (.327) — (50.5 GB)
