I agree that actually calling someone a "nigger" is hideously odious.
By the same token, I think that referring to the word "nigger" as the "n-word" is a little bit silly.
To each their own, Eh?

Of course. Different things make different people uncomfortable. To each their own, Eh?
Maybe it's my Oakland upbringing, maybe it's something else. I don't know. But I would never write out the n*word.I agree that actually calling someone a "nigger" is hideously odious.

First trumpers created a problem about trans persons, and then trump claimed to put an end to the "problem."Typical ....deny deny deny.
Trump has put an end to a lot of it.
Karen, do you think the alt lefties embracing DEI had anything to with it? Brandon's cabinet looked like the Cantina scene in the Star Wars flick.First trumpers created a problem about trans persons, and then trump claimed to put an end to the "problem."
"The 2020s saw the emergence of an anti-LGBTQ movement, closely associated with Trumpism. This movement places particular emphasis on opposing transgender rights. Targeting of transgender people has escalated under the second Trump administration. As a result, there are few federal protections left for transgender Americans. President Donald Trump's executive orders have rolled back protections. Some orders even erase the legal existence of transgender people. State, local, and other governmental bodies in the United States have enacted anti-transgender legislation. Social issues in the United States also reveal a level of transphobia. Because of transphobia, transgender people in the U.S. face increased levels of violence and intimidation."

It’s normal for a percentage of any population to be trans. It’s not a majority.First of all, I believe that what I said is indeed true.
Second, I didn't in any way suggest that it's ok to use the slur "tranny."
What I said was that "tranny" is not comparable to "nigger" because they represent two entirely different kinds of disrespect, one racial discrimination and another discrimination against the handicapped
which is what transsexuals actually are. Gender confusion is a serious birth defect. Civilization couldn't exist if it were the norm.
The older generations, (my parents and myself) tried to warn the younger generation of the "commercialization" of such with Rap and Hip Hop. They didn't listen, so I have no pity for their sense of offense.I met my best friend in high school freshman year. He was a white dude and he used the n*word. I remember being like "WTF?!?!?!"
What I didn't know was he grew up in basically all black deep East Oakland. So he was given a pass. (Even then he stopped saying after awhile.)
Today you get kids of all races saying it who listen to hip hop. I'm remind of a tweet from Gyneth Paltrow when she was hanging out with Kanye and Jay Z when n*word in Paris was on top of the charts, and she said "I'm hanging with the real n*words in Paris".
She obviously wasn't using it as a slur, but she got a lot of pushback on that (and understandably so).
