The News as We Once Knew It Is Dead

I don’t think they were ever serious about conspiracy.

I think it was an obstruction trap all the way. Set up a bogus investigation and hope that Trump ‘obstructs it’. It’s actually easy to see why they’d try it because Trump was even making me nervous some of the time.

But I think he saw what they were up to and went out of his way to provide documents, interviews and etc. So much so, that Mullet/Weismann had no grounds to to demand and interview with Trump, himself.

Weismann got outplayed and punts to Democrats in Congress. End of story. Weeks later it was on to Ukraine.

See my sig. They will never stop.
Oh they were serious alright -see my sig

With a bias obviously. I agree with the article. There is no reliable news source out there anymore. No more journalism. Just "reporting" rumors and innuendo that dumb folks are taking as fact.

Let's use Obama as an example. If Obama did something "negatively" and the media reports it, is that a bias?

Not necessarily. If the article backs up why it's negative, it's logic, not bias.

Everytime Trump opens his mouth, it's news. He's the President of the United States so every stupid fucking thing he says is reportable. If he says 90% bullshit and 10% truth with all of it being reported, it would be bias to only report on the 10% of truth and ignore the 90% bullshit.

An example is his recent statement at his Fayetteville rally: “We can joke, we can play games, we can have fun. You can’t have this guy as your president. You can’t have — maybe I’ll sign an executive order, you cannot have him as your president.”

He's probably joking, but since Trump lies and bullshits all the time, it's difficult to say what he truly believes and what he does not. Either way, it's all reportable. It's all news.

Of course not. But that is not what the media does. They are actually at the point they are reporting the news to match whatever political agenda they are trying to impose. A perfect example of that is news stations talking about "peaceful" demonstrations when there are buildings burning and looting going on behind them. On camera.

It depends. If you are talking about CBS Evening News, no. If you are talking about the cable news knuckleheads, yes. They are on 24/7 and fill the air time with about 8% news and 75% bullshit (plus 17% commercials). All are politically biased, but it depends upon the show actually broadcasting. Daytime CNN is a lot better than nighttime CNN. The same goes for Fox. I don't watch much MSNBC but suspect they're the same.

The bad news for CNN and MSNBC is that they are dividing their niche between them while Fox has a lock on the RW niche. That could change as other RW media (such as OAN) outlets grow and compete with Fox.

How can I know if I don't see an example? I don't watch CNN.
I am sure it is rampant on all liberal media sources. Take a look.
Anything with Cuomo or Lemon is as far Left as Rush and Hannity. Presumably all are doing it to make money. Like testified to in court about Alex Jones, they're "playing a character", a "performance artist".

Do I sound cynical?

There's a crucial difference here: Jones is an opinion guy, CNN portrays themselves as news.

So does Fox. What's your point? Is it that Fox can make money but CNN can't? If so then that's unAmerican.

Alex Jones has a fucking podcast and is a conspiracy/opinion guy. Anyone who compares the MSM to Alex Jones needs to kill themselves right now, for the good of the country.

He's quoted by the RWNJ all over this forum. Just not as much since his fall from grace. Examples:
Alex Jones does not belong on that list. Sure, he gets over the top at times, but the core of his messages are found in good research.
The fact you totally ignored Hannity is telling.

You sound rational.
