he's actually correct, though. the AR-15s ONLY relation to military grade is its cosmetic look. military grade would constitute automatic fire. the AR isn't automatic.

True, but it could be argued that the guns are made for mass killings, and the aforementioned aren't. Say nothing of the ease at which the gun accomplishes the deed, vs the others. My buddies all have vast collections of guns that they were tricked into acquiring by the NRA under Obama. They claim they need them because they're fun to shoot'.
We can never do away with them, because they're all over the place. If you want to shoot shit up at a range, there should be no law against it. There has to be a law against strolling through a Walmart with one, though.

It's part of the purpose. A citizenry familiar with current military weapons is a necessary prerequisite to an effective militia. At the time the 2nd was written, civilians could own anything up to, and including, field artillery, which was the ultimate in military weaponry of the time.

do you realize how stupid YOU look? The Army, like any other military branch, uses the M16 or the M4, which is the military grade version of a civilian AR-15. the difference being that the M version (military) has select fire, or automatic fire.
