The Problem with Republicans giving Trump a pass.

That pass will inevitably be used by other candidates for president and future presidents.

Precedent is strong, and norms have been broken. The Republican party has allowed a president to get away with lying, cheating and stealing openly. How do they now go after anyone who does the same, especially since they have no articulable reason for having done it?

A Republican or a Democrat can now openly bilk the America people out of Billions of dollars for his family, and really what are we going to do about it?

A Republican or a Democrat can have raped, stolen or lied about intentions relating to almost anything, and really what are we going to do about it?

If nothing is done about Trump in the next two years, our system will have suffered decades of setback that let Presidents to get away with so much, and will allow Presidents to have so much more power than they were ever intended to have.

I just can't see people (on either side of the isle) standing up and saying "well Trump was a special case" you can't do that.

I do not blame Trump as much as i blame the current Supreme Court.

This SC has been deliberately stripping Congress of most of its power and pushing it up to the Executive to create a unitary Executive with King like power.

Congress was always intended to be the first amongst equals in the 3 branches of gov't as the one that was most accountable to 'we the people'.

congress gets to create all the Laws and the POTUS just gets to enforce and protect them and the SC rule on them. But it is Congress who sets the rules thru those laws.

But the Rich and Corporations have always hated Congress having so much power based on POPULACE representation.

The Rich and Corporations prefer that power with one man as one man, is easier to lobby, buy and control.

That is why this SC has been stripping Congress while vastly empowering the POTUS.
